Lower the price even more. Nobody gonna paid $350 just like soundwave said when you could get a PS4 or Xbox One a superior console

It's not $350. It's $299, has been for a while now. Dropping the price even lower right now would do more damage than good, as Nintendo were losing money on it when it was $350. Also, at $299 it includes bundled games. One could make the point PS4/X1 are $100/$200 more expensive and have no games to boot.

I think you have a good point. The thing I loved about the Wii was the motion controls. It was a bit crappy before the Motion Plus, but after that it fixed most of the issues. I though that games that supported the Motion Plus are all really good (Tiger Woods golf, Wii Sports Resort, Skyward Sword, Conduit 2, Red Steele 2).

With the WiiU, the motion plus is now a given. They now really can produce the type of games that the Wii initially promised ... but then they went with the gamepad. Now, don't get me wrong, I really like the gamepad in "core" games like AC and ZombiU, but I have a feeling that most Wii owners are looking for those wild swingin' days with the wiimote.

And where is the golf game for the WiiU? Tiger Woods was one of the best selling games on the Wii, outselling its PS360 piers in spite of being graphically inferior. There are hundreds of thousands of corporate workers looking for a way to make golf in their living room a reality - why is no one tapping this market?

The Wii U couldn't even sell *half* of what the GameCube sold its second November.

This thing is a borderline disaster right now, if the price isn't cut soon there isn't going to be a "tomorrow" for it to worry about.

I think you are going to see a miserable Jan-March 2014 period for the Wii U sales wise too, even with DKC. Sales are going to drop back down to their usual 40-50k a month in the US and less than that in Japan and Europe.

Another price cut IMO is coming in April with Mario Kart.

I was being generous, but yes I could see it in that range.

November - 220k

December - 380k

January - 30k

Would be my guesses for Dec/Jan.

I don't agree with ya, though. I was trying to get a Wii for months before I finally got one. The games I wanted were all first party. My second or third game was Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, a game I already owned on Gamecube, because there just wasn't anything available that I wanted.

Even now, there's just a handful of third party Wii games that I ever owned. Most of them sucked balls. Meanwhile there's plenty of Wii U third party games I'm interested in. The Gamepad is awesome, btw.

Interesting.

for me, The Wii U has a lot of games that i can already play on PS3.

The Wii exclusive 3rd party games grabbed me more than the ones on Wii U.

I couldn't wait to try some of those games on the Wii. I dont care too much to try Tank Tank Tank or Scribblenauts as much on Wii U. The excitement just isn't the same

I think the Gamepad would be that much more awesome if it WASN'T the main controller lol

The Wii U is only priced high because of the gamepad, right?

I heard somewhere that this was the case.

The Wii U was always $299 though.

Also, I don't think that point is going to be as effective these days. The Wii was in a better position for that to be said than the Wii U is right now

As you clicked this thread title and glanced at the thread creator, i'm sure a lot of you mumbled "What!? What could this SONYITE possibly know about Nintendo!?!". I guess you will all just have to trust me on this one. I have talked about this a couple of times here on the forums so this may sound familiar to a couple of you.

If a company ever finds themselves in a bind, they have to acknowledge it, find the source of its problem and correct it.

Now if we want to find the source of their problems, we have to ask ourselves "What is the main cause of the Wii U's struggles?". I'm pretty sure the majority of people would say "Games". The Wii U doesn't have many "games" right now and that's why it is struggling, right?

...WRONG!!!

I bet my life that the $250 sku that doesn't include the Gamepad will fly off of shelves and would also make some of these devs want to create games for the Wii U like they did for the Wii again. It wont sell as much as the Wii but it will still put them in a better position.

you would probably lose your life, the wiiu is already 299$ with the gamepad and 2 games bundled. 50$ off would be a small boost.

I think that a Wii U with a Wii Mote will sell better than a Wii U with a Gamepad.

Superior is very subjective, and $300 is exceptionally cheap for a new HD console, compared to $400 or $500 consoles that DON'T come packed with a game, and charge you extra fees for things like online play.

P.S. There is no such thing in NA as a $350 Wii U anymore. They dropped the price. It helps to pay attention.
