Forums - Sony Discussion - Why Do People Act Like Sony (Computer Entertainment) Doesn't Have Financial Problems?

Whenever I see articles about how the Wii U is doomed, lots of the writers talk about Sony like they never loose money and are perfect. It's like they're completely ignoring how much money the PS3 lost. Does anyone here know why people do this?

When the PS3 launched they had everything against them and still managed to turn it around, now with the PS4 they have everything going for them there is almost no way for them not to do good this gen.

There has been plenty of written about Sony's financial problems. The gaming division not so much, because there are far worse performing sectors in the company.

People talk about Nintendo more because they are almost entirely reliant on revenue from gaming.

We all know that Sony has financial problems. But as a gamer am I to assume that their games and consoles suck just because they are not financially stable?

Even if PS4 is the fastest selling console in history, it doesn't make sense to ingore how financially unsuccessful the PS3 was and pretend it was a huge financial success because it sold 80 million. I can understand why the "journalist" do it though. Since It's mostly used in negative Nintendo articles, Nintendo fanboys will keep going back to the website to see if they put up more negative Nintendo articles. It's sort of like what YouTube trolls do to get views.

I dont think people are denying that sony has financial problems, samsung has been working on a hostile takeover for some time now and they have debt issues. But the reality is a lot of japannese companies have similiar problems with debt and they are still hanging on.

I personally dont think sony will be the same company in 10 years, with various parts of it business sold off, including the very valuable playstation brand. Only time will tell but the success of the ps4 certainley makes it more attractive to potential takeovers.
