Forums - Sales Discussion - Analyst: Xbox One Likely to do Best in North America

PlayStation 4 may be the quickest-selling console in industry history, but Microsoft’s Xbox One kept it competitive, selling a staggering two million units in 18 days, officially making it the second quickest-selling console ever released.

The same report that discussed PlayStation 4’s success also touted Xbox One’s. “Both the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One had very successful console launches in November, 2013,” DFC’s analysis read, in part. But there’s an interesting prediction about where, exactly, the Xbox One will succeed, even if it doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

“The Xbox One is a system that is likely to do much better in North America than the rest of the world,” DFC notes. “The system’s appeal is limited more to a core demographic. The game Titanfall, scheduled for release in March 2014, will be a key exclusive for Xbox One that could help drive system sales.” (Titanfall will also be available on Xbox 360 and PC.)

Xbox 360 absolutely dominated the American market when compared to its PlayStation 3, at one time racking up multiple years worth of sales victories over PS3 in monthly NPD sales reports. At 80 million sold (and counting), Xbox 360 sold nearly four times better than its predecessor, the Xbox.

Microsoft launched Xbox One in 13 countries on November 22, including its stronghold in United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia. It will release elsewhere in the world in 2014, including in Japan, Sony's home country.

Dude why, this is obvious troll bait.

We'll see about that after the holidays. At this point it's just hardcore fans from both sides latching on to the consoles.

Don't laugh at him, he might say shit everybody knows, but he gets paid for it. I would be laughing at you if I was him.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII

Why? The "analyst" just said that the X1 strongest market will be North America, everyone that has at least spend a little time looking at past xbox sales could've told you that.

It doesn't matter if the US is xbox's strongest market. What matters most is the $100 price difference when both platforms with pretty much offer the same games. Microsoft can easily lose the whole US market this gen. I can safely say that there are more hardcore xbox fans in america than there are playstation fans but hardcore fans alone won't make you win and that is the obvious part.

XB1 has a good chance is NA.
Because it's a console really designed for NA, TV intergation doesn't even work in europe

edit: ok he's saying NA wil be Xb1 biggest market... He even gets paid to say this lmao. Could it be more obvious

All it's saying is Xbox One will sell well in North America, but it's intentionally worded poorly for site traffic, implying Xbox One will outsell PS4.

No way? :o I always assumed that Japan will be Xbox land.

Captain obvious and his fat paycheck strikes again...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I agree with this analyst. Also, anyone know where I can get a job like his?
