making great games for your console at the end of it's time in spotlight (not life) is a lot more than a PR stunt.  It's called long-term support.  A PR stunt would be saying you're going to do that and not or giving it half-baked games or games from your suckier studios.  Puppeteer, Beyond, and Last of Us have been 3 of my favorite games from this gen.  Puppeteer and LoU are in my top 10 for the ENTIRE gen.  It just reaffirms that I made the right decision with Sony.  PR stunts end in disappointment.  This support did not.  Speaking of PR, their MARKETING completely failed with everything other than LoU.  They should have been shoving these new games in people's faces especially the new IPs.  They need to be made aware.  My 3 apartment mates saw me playing Puppeteer and were in awe of the visuals and gameplay and asked what it was.  That means Sony marketing failed.

It was a great decision. Not only did it spike ps3 sales this year, but next year aswell. It made Microsoft look the tools and it hyped the value of the ps4.
The only problem is they were so afraid that the games would affect the ps4 that they decided to barely advertise them.

To say the least no because these were actually smart decisions seeing as how next gen userbase is relatively small. GT will move hardware but sony will need more than that to make the PS4 lift off. What is a failure so far is that microsoft didn't bring anything worthwhile this year and at the same time their line up of next gen games didn't exactly set the audience on fire and as for the WII U I have no comment on that.

That gave me a big laugh.

That "better" launch lineup is filled with games that are objectively mediocre to just utterly bad and is composed of only 2 good games.

for the fact Sony's first party studios have been able to compose a Game of The Year contender for the last 4 years in a row is amazing 

God of War 3, Uncharted 3, Journey, The Last of Us.

X1's Launch line up is awful for the most part just like the PS4's but the best selling exclusive so far between the X1 and PS4 happens to be KZ SF because it's selling more which means the the PS4 actually has the better launch games compared to the X1.

I wouldn't say KZ is in anyway better then Forza or DR. 

But I don't understand if the OP is implying financial success or quality success. It seems he's implying both. So with that said I'm glad Sony has put out a variety of games.

Sales and quality are pretty much the same thing as far as I can see.  

The game is likely trash if no one is willing to buy it. Whatever the OP implied the X1's launch is just as bad if not worse than the PS4's line up. 

B2S suffered from its own devices. I have no idea why they changed the QTE system that worked so well on Heavy Rain to whatever they put on B2S. I can miss a bunch of them in succession and not get penalized... The game has its moments but not enough overall.

GT6 was just not a sound decision.

Sony supporting the PS3 so late in the gen will help the PS4 as it will build consumer confidence. People will know that when they go PlayStation it truly does last a generation

No. The sales of GT6 so far havent been great but remember the ps4 already has an upcoming racing game. If GT6 had released on the ps4 along with Driving Club, we would be complaining right now about how sony was going overboard with racing games. This way they will make some money from GT6 on the ps3, then a year or so later they will release GT6 on the ps4 and upgrade graphics and so on and make some more money. And in the background they will be working on GT7. With all the experience they will gain from working on GT6 on the ps4, they will no doubt have a killer game.
