Retro did say there was to be a 4th secert character, possibly Cranky Kong as the boxart might suggest.
If it's true, no idea what special ability he would have.
But this in no way 100% confirms its Cranky Kong.

Since its a secret character I wouldn't doubt you won't be able to get it until late / post-game.
