Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are some Nintendo fans so opposed to going third party?

Because I like Nintendo consoles better? The Wii U is a better system than the XBO and the PS4. I don't want to play Nintendo games on other hardware because I don't like the other hardware. I don't like their UI. I don't like their community. I don't prefer their controllers. I'm not paying for online. I like only paying $300 for my hobby. I like playing games on the gamepad at no extra fee.

Crazy huh? That it's possible for someone to be able to confidently say that a Nintendo console is better for more reason's than just the games. If Nintendo went third party, I'd have to deal with PS4's and XBO's boring steroidal-wannabe hardware. Who wants that? Not me.

I want Nintendo games to remain on Nintendo consoles because I like their controllers the best, I like how safe their internet software is (you don't have to worry about profanity or nudity on miiverse and they just recently took down swapnote on 3ds because of stuff like that), I enjoy the smallness and portability of their hardware (MS and Sony consoles are always huge by comparison), I've never had to really worry about massive console issues (like red ring of death and now the green ring of death from what i've heard about xbone) nor have I had to worry about large amounts of time where the online stuff was offline (cough* ps3 cough*). I could go on but I'll stop.

Ugh, these negative Nintendo threads are getting repetitive.. I really gotta consider leaving this site

you would probably get fewer games from nintendo. nintendo has to develop a certain amount of games to sell hardware. if they don't have to do it they would release only the most profitable games and would maybe care even less about new franchises.

or they would release the same amount of games but quality assurance wouldn't be so high anymore in the long run since they wouldn't have to release a system seller. i don't think that the latest mario would be exactly that good if they would have made it for ps360 or ps4/xb1.

well, this is my theory and could be totally wrong.

I don't see the problem with them making a few games 3rd party, not stuff like smash brothers or pokemon that are strong enough exclusives to move platform sales, but dying nintento series like mario, or make a 3rd party version of an individual nintendo classic, They would sell like hot cakes.........thats if they need money though, no point doing it if they don't need a boost but I think they are getting close to needing one,

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Because even like that, Nintendo hardware reliability are unmatched by anyone in console market

Mario is considered a dying franchise now? :O

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Because it's more likely for Sony to go third-party than Nintendo based on their finances.

Because Nintendo make consoles with more interesting interfaces and lower price points than their competitors.

Let's just forget nintendo consoles tend to be underpowered and have an online mode stuck in the late 90's.
