Forums - Gaming Discussion - I went to get a PS4 just now, but it all went wrong & now feel gutted for my 2 lads :(

So my local Asda stores confirmed to me that they are one of the stores that have sourced extra PS4 consoles for those who did not pre-order.

They said your best offf popping down at 11pm, they will hand out raffle tickets so a console will be reserved for you once they start selling at 00:01

So i hopped on down @11, as soon as i got there BAM........................................................................................

i was told by the music/video desk that crowds had gathered at 7pm demanding that they get a reserved console hence store manager asked them all to hand out the raffle allocations at 7pm

This has fucking pissed me off, im not actually too bothered about myself as i use PC more nowadays but id still want a nex-gen system anyway especially for my 2 sons who have been waiting for need for speed rivals and COD ghosts all day and now im going to have to tell them tomorrow you havent got one

imo allocations should have been plenty thus i feel they(sony) have failed and asda(bastards)

If i cant source a PS4 locally in the next fortnight AND an XboxOne can be sourced then im afraid i will be happy to purchase an XboxOne

*and before anyone says you should have preordered it. the answer to that is i had it pre ordered with amazon ever since it was first availiable but cancelled it due to having lost my job in October, now i restart a new job role(thank god) on the 2nd december so thats why ive re kindled my intrest to purchase a new console

im tired and grumpy and im off to bed

Sucks man. After over a week I got a bone controller and still haven't got a console......I don't truss placing pre-orders in my local stores because they are notorious for selling reserved items........

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

How did sony or asda fail? There is never enough consoles available at launches. And the PS4 is the biggest launch ever. Should have known the crowd would start gathering a lot earlier than 11pm. Probably wont be able to find an xbox one either.

Sounds like ASDA failed you not Sony. Lots of people want them, and not everyone gets one. They dont have a magic wand to make them. They are doing the best they can

I'm just glad you had your priorities straight by cancelling your pre-order because you lost your job. Good luck, man.

ASDA fail: tell consumer to be there at 11 for raffle ticket.  Consumer shows up at 11 for raffle ticket.  Raffle tickets given out at 7pm.  If a company has a time frame in mind they should stick to it, or at the very least honour those that they've misled.

It's all about the game.

Sony should have sold more stock.. I am shocked at the sell outs, considering the SCE ceo said they would have more than enough that there is now way they would have stock issues..

1 MILLION for a day isn't enough sony..

This might be a good chance for you to teach your kids about patience. I know that as a parent it is extremely disheartening to see a frown on your child's face, but sometimes it is important to learn lessons from real life experiences where things don't always work out the way you want them to. It certainly wasn't your fault. Thus they have no choice but to be patient.

As they say, good things come to those who wait.
