Year of Waluigi in 2015? pls Nintendo

OT:<3 Yoshi, he deserves a year dedicated to him

When is the 3DS Yoshi coming out? Wasn't it announced for this year?

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

but wait, Yoshi is already in more than half of those games by default. The fact that Yoshi's Yarn and Yoshi's Island is coming out next year is just due to development time! Not ruling out the idea, but it just seems like coincidence that the two exclusive Yoshi games are coming out next year! Plus, Yoshi is not even a main character (or doesn't even appear) in Super Mario 3D World. Not playing devil's advocate, just making some valid points.

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

I think so too, I suggested as much in the last Nintendo Direct thread.

I don't see why it would.

2014 isn't a significant year for the character Yoshi. Those Mario, Zelda and Luigi years were because of anniversaries; 2010 Mario year was because it was the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros., 2011 was a Zelda year because The Legend of Zelda series turned 25 an 2013 was Luigi's year because the character turned 30. All milestones, they weren't 'just because'.

2014 is nothing for Yoshi, so why celebrate? 2015 could be a Yoshi year, that's when Yoshi turns 25. However, I don't think it'll happen, because both Yoshi's New Island and Yarn Yoshi are probably 2014 releases and Yoshi himself, with all due respect because I like the character as well, isn't an important enough character for Nintendo.

Long story short; I don't see much incentive for a full-scale Yoshi year.

Oh it's definitely a coincidence. However, just saying it's the year of Yoshi takes no prior planning or resources, so they could announce it at anytime. And yeah, I doubt SM3DW, a 2013 title, has anything to do with it lol.

I'm still waiting for the Year of Samus/Metroid.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Would be awesome if true but there should be a milestone somewhere for that to happen no?

Except it is a significant Year for Yoshi thanks to all those games, which I'm saying is reason enough for it to be the Year of Yoshi, but you'd know that already if you read the OP.
No there isn't a significant anniversary or anything, but who says there has to be?

I came in here to say that.
