Forums - Sony Discussion - Foxconn Intern Claims to Have Sabotaged PS4 Manufacture

According to a snapshot of a deleted forum post, the interns at a Foxconn manufacturing plant in Yantai, China have sabotaged the PS4. This was first reported on the IGN forums here. Unfortunately, the forum was locked.  The IGN forum author tried to elaborate more here. Here is a snapshot of the actual post:

This manufacturing plant has made world news for its mistreatment of the staff, and Polygon did a story on it over a month ago. The intern notes that because Foxconn didn’t treat them well, they didn’t treat the PS4 well. He/she says “The ps4 console we assemble can be turned on at best.” This could explain some of the “blue light” problems. These PlayStations can turn on, but do not actually display a picture. This issue was reported on here. There is no physical evidence to indicate that the sabotage actually occured or is in any way linked to problems with a very small percentage of PS4s, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

I still can't believe they had interns making the launch systems...huge mistake by Sony imo especially considering from the story the interns were studying completely different subjects and knew nothing about this.

Looks like my conspiracy theories are right from time to time. Kind of screwed up that the intern screws over the PS4 when when Sony, like every other hardware manufacturer that has product assembled there, has nothing to do with the working conditions.

How's it a mistake by Sony?  Foxconn is the one getting the interns to assemble the product.

I wonder if the Xbox One was also affected.

well the reports about only mentioned the ps4 but i would be suprised if they only used interns to make one and not the other

The PS4 they assembled can be turned on at best. At worst, it can play Knack. Hey-o!

That sucks...Hopefully the second wave will be better.

I tried translating the Chinese texts and it does mention Microsoft, but then again it also mentions Apple - the sentence makes zero sense. Why don't we have any accurate online Chinese translators?

Really? Nobody is doubting this, even a little??? SERIOUSLY???

Is this really what we've come to???

I would assume Sony has a say in who is making the PS4s.
