Phil Spencer talks ‘DriveClub,’ ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall’ and Sony

Phil Spencer has provided some comments in regards to “Killzone: Shadow Fall,” “DriveClub” and the first-party studios from Sony Computer Entertainment. In an audio interview with IGN’s Podcast Unlocked on Oct. 30, the corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios was asked to give his opinion on the competition from his perspective as a video game player.

Phil Spencer thinks that “Killzone: Shadow Fall” is going to be a “great game,” calling Guerrilla Games a “good studio” in the process. He believed that Sony is hanging the launch of the PS4 on that particular video game, adding that it was “very smart” for them to target the first-person shooting genre.

The corporate vice president also thought that the delay for “DriveClub” will end up being a good thing for Sony. He mentioned that they shouldn't force it out at the PS4 launch as the company will need the driving title to be “fantastic.” You can find screenshots from “DriveClub” and “Killzone: Shadow Fall” in the slideshow near the top of this article.

Finally, Phil Spencer called the first-party core at Sony Computer Entertainment an “incredible organization” with many “great franchises.” He was especially impressed with the leadership and management of the company.

Phil Spencer and Microsoft will be competing against the PS4 next month with the Xbox One. Sony’s new console is due to come out first on Nov. 15 while Microsoft’ next generation system is launching one week later on Nov. 22. You can order the aforesaid products from Amazon in the following links: “DriveClub,” “Killzone: Shadow Fall,” PS4 and Xbox One

(Now this is class as it's best, Spencer being a gamer and showing props)

Hmmm, I like it better when these guys are insulting each other. Makes for a more entertaining console war.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Phil, like most in the industry, recognizes there is a bigger picture at play here. For me, there is nothing shocking or surprising about what he says or THAT he says it. It's all true.

Not bad Phil not bad Phil, thumbs up!

He should teach other guys at Microsoft how to talk to the press.

I think he also should teach the guys that showed how to trade games , a lesson on how not to fall for demagoguery.
