The decisions better actually change the outcome/endings this time or I really will have lost all faith in Telltale to make meaningful decisions.

Yeah, everyone seems to talk about this game having meaningful decisions, but it really really didn't. It just gave you slightly different loops which were undone a little while after. Maybe I wouldn't have noticed this if I actually enjoyed the gameplay, but the clunkiness of it just never drew me in

I loved it on my first playthrough but when I replayed it an purposely made the exact OPPOSITE choice on all the big decisions it ended up not mattering at all!  I thought I could save Kenny.  I thought maybe if I let Carly die sooner the other guy (forget his name) would live past the train.  I thought leaving the cannibals alive would come back to bite me or something.  I thought maybe SOME of these decisions would effect Clementine's actions regarding me.  Nothing.  I haven't been that pissed in a long time at a game because it really fooled me.  Once the veil is lifted it really hurts the game in my eyes.

Admiteddly, I feel that Heavy Rain is the only game that I have played where your choices and actions do really matter. I also want for a game to actually depend on your abilities, not just your choices on the spot.

That's one of the main reasons I love Heavy Rain.  Beyond has a couple meaningful decisions right at the end.  Though it's more of a "push button ending" like Deus Ex: HE or Mass Effect (which did a great job with decisions effecting things until the end).  This is the series that should take that risk though.  It's not uber graphics focused so they could build optional characters/environments/animations without so much added cost.  A game like Beyond that is so pretty all the time and is supposed to show off hardware I feel has SOMEWHAT of an excuse to not make 20 branching paths because it would probably add millions of dollars of optional content.  Though it's not really a valid reason because replay value would be increased and maybe more people would buy it.

Yeah, I loved Mass Effect as well though in many cases I don't think the choices mattered that much, but they certainly changed the way the characters reactions to you. More importantly, they made it worth a second playthrough since the game was so fun anyway.

As for Beyond, its still sitting on my shelf because the talk of the lack of choices it making me far less excited

I don't regret the purchase.  The scenes near the end were outright tear jerkers for me.  Willem Dafoe is absolutely riveting especially later in the game.

I mean to play it, but I'm just not as excited as I was. I need to finish Bioshock Infinite, go away for 10 days, finish Beyond and it should be PS4 time
