I see another thread about MS's free games program is being ruined by comparisons to Sony's game rental program.

To be fair MS's online gaming rental program (which includes free games for a short period) is very similar to Sony's rental game program. Though I agree it's getting monotonous seeing the same thing in a different thread.

I don't know of any MS gaming rental program. I know of their Games with Gold, where you get to keep the free games for eternity. Idk about any rentals though.

He might be referring to online, as you have to rent the multiplayer part of every game with XBL. On top of that, doesn't every "Game with Gold" have a multiplayer component, meaning you'll have to keep paying anyway?

PSN: Osc89

NNID: Oscar89

This is a great start. Although I think PS+ is still the best gaming subscription around, XBL is really starting is cover ground. With both PS+ and Games on Gold, my backlog is IMMENSE!!!

If you really compare both you will see the difference.
When psn + started, sony was only offering discounts are arcade games. some free themes and such.
While on xbox live we started getting full retail games out of the gate. I can bet you people the games will get better.

Did you know ps4 only supports a 2.4 wireless signal?

The xbox one supports a wireless adapter capable of 2.4 - 5.0ghz.

The ONLY next gen console to do so.

Ha! Yeah I'm pretty sure when you stop paying for gold you no longer have access to playing online multiplayer games, which is essentially a rental program.

If I stop paying for Gold I still keep Halo 3 as long as I want. If I stop paying for PS+ none of my "free games" work. Not sure how you miss the difference. Saying PS+ offers free games is like saying Netflix gives you tons of free movies. What MS is offering is more like when TRU has a buy 2 get one free deal. Sure, you might have initial investment required, but then the free game is yours forever.

I am sure you will reply still not getting it, but I won't waste any more time trying to explain it any simpler.

That is a perfect summary of this whole psn + thing. They will just spin it around no matter how you put it. You're better off just to ignore them.

Do you have the inability to fathom that once you stop paying for live you can no longer have access to play online with others, isn't that renting? Because according to YOU if I(or others) don't get to keep something it's a RENTAL Service but with a little logical thinking you would understand that both PS+ and XBL are subscriptions to a service.Just like PS+ you stop paying for it you lose your games, stop paying for XBL can't play online.

And I'm not saying anything concerning the 7 year old garbage bin games that you have 10,15 days to acquire before you miss out. I know you get to keep Halo, Crack, and Dead Rising once your XBL rental fee is due that's if you downloaded them in time of course.

Your clearly misinterpreting my post which is typical. I never said PS+ has free games neither does XBL have free games saying otherwise would be foolish. Both happen to include games with a payed subscription fee. Now I hope I enlightened you over the past few days thanks for your listening.

EDIT: Also I only defended PS+ because of your rental services comment, I consider you a fairly balanced user but that dig at PS+ is just nonsense considering both subscriptions to XBL and PS+ grant you access to a service for a limited time which according to you is a rental. imo I feel both services are garbage, but in all honesty I prefer XBL to PS+ no question and games with gold only sweetens the deal.

Oh I missed this thread. Oops. Thanks for keeping it alive with all your arguing!

To be honest though I haven't downloaded a single game from this. I really don't use my 360 anymore but more importantly it's a launch unit with only 12gb of memory :(
