Forums - Gaming Discussion - Kamiya wants to make Devil May Cry 5. Tells fans to ask Kobayashi.

Tagged games:

We all know that The Wonderful 101 was released on Wii U back in September. What's next for Hideki Kamiya?

1) I tweeted Kamiya and asked, "Will Devil May Cry 5 be your next project?" He replied, "I'm ready. Ask Capcom."

2) I then tweeted him, "Hiroyuki Kobayashi should ask you to make Devil May Cry 5." He then replied, "U ask him."

3) Finally, I tweeted saying, "Hiroyuki Kobayashi doesn't use Twitter. I can't reach him directly. :(" He replied with the following URL, "https://twitter.com/HiroKobaP"

Isn't it obvious what needs to be done here?

Here's the Twitter account of Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Producer: DMC1, RE4, DMC4):

All DMC fans need to be throwing endless tweets at Hiroyuki Kobayashi's Twitter account and ask him to choose Kamiya and Platinum Games to make DMC5. It's not even spam at this point. If the original creator of the series wants to direct DMC5 then it's our duty as fans to help him get selected and not Tameem and Ninja Theory.

Honestly, I'd love to see DMC5 using the Deep Down engine. Even if Platinum Games aren't allowed access to that, I wouldn't mind seeing DMC5 on PS Vita using the Bayonetta engine.

I've done my part. I've already sent a few tweets to Kobayashi asking him to choose Kamiya for DMC5. Whether he replies or not is not the issue. The main thing is at least sending the tweets. Please also do the same if you're a DMC fan. Lastly, and also importantly, spread the word around various video game forums and blogs. The more people that flood Kobayashi's inbox, the more likely we'll get a response.

Also, upon further inspection, Kamiya has been wanting to make DMC5 for a while. This is a tweet from him back in November 2011:

Lastly, Hideki Kamiya and Hiroyuki Kobayashi are still friends. Even when Bayonetta was playable at TGS 2009, Kobayashi came to the SEGA booth to play the game. They took this photo together afterwards:

Not a fan of the series, but I know my brother will be pleased to hear this. He hated the DMC remake, like most DMC fans did.

I liked DmC for what it was. However, the prospect of DMC5 being made by the director of Bayonetta is simply too much to ignore.

Yes please.

Make sure you send a tweet to Kobayashi, bro. We need to let him know that there's demand for Kamiya to direct DMC5.

Please did it!

Most fans hated the remake because it was different.  I'm one of them.  That is, until I actually played it.  I watched a friend play it through the full game and I've played through about half of it myself as I don't own it yet, but for the time I've spent with it, it could possibly be better than any Capcom developed DMC games.  As for the character models and story, after people stop letting bias about the original series get in the way and take it as a new take then they'll probably like the new Dante and Vergil just as much as the old ones.

Vergil's doesn't look as cool as he did on DMC3, but he's still just as badass.  If you're not going to play the game or don't mind a spoiler watch the ending.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXaz6XczZNI

I'd rather have a new DmC from Ninja Theory than a new DMC.

Similar to DmC reboot, I'm also a huge Castlevania fan.  I'm just as much a Castlevania fan as I am a Final Fantasy fan.  I hated Lords of Shadow before playing it because it went against the timeline that has already been set up prior to release.  Once I gave it a chance and took it as Lords of Shadow and not Castlevania, it's such a good game that it's my favorite this gen.  If I letmy bias about it not being Castlevania continue getting in the way, I would have missed out on such an amazing game.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow was an amazing game. Definitely one of the best games I've played this generation. Not to mention one of the best endings I've seen in a game.

I've already watched the whole game after playing a few hours of it and not caring to play the rest. For me and my brother (who played the entire game), it was too much of a Matrix ripoff and the combat took less skill than the previous games. There wasn't anything wrong with the past games as far as DMC fans were concerned, so there wasn't any need to redo the origin story, and this is why imo it didn't do as well as the old games.

Hideki Kamiya has wanted to make Devil May Cry since DMC1 came out. None of the DMC games are true sequels to the original game; so if Platinum Games were given a shot at it I would like them to start from the beginning rather than continue DMC4, which I think was a low point for the series.

When someone refers to a 'lot of DMC fans hated DmC'; their referring to fans who only wanted DMC4 to continue.

The fans of the series who started playing DMC with DMC1 know that there are no true sequels to DMC1 for various reasons. The sequels that were made were Capcom's sequels not Team Little Devils' sequels. Thus I don't care about where DMC4 was going, because it was nothing like the original game, nor did I believe it was taking the series to new heights.

Personally, after having spend a lot of time with the series, I can see why Capcom didn't want to continue DMC4. I wouldn't want Kobayashi near the series again after the story and the characterisations of DMC4. That being said Platnium Games don't write particularly thought proving stories, which is something Ninja Theory do very well by comparison.

DmC did in my view feature the best combat in the series. Whether or not Capcom decide to continue it or not we don't know, but to pretend DMC4 was going somewhere to dismiss DmC is deceptive. DmC was taking the series forward in ways DMC4 wasn't so I would rather see that continue.
