Ps1 outsold the SNES starting off. Ps2 outsold the Ps1 starting off. The Wii outsold the Ps2 starting off... but no one is going to outsell the ps3 (a second place console) starting off this next gen... Okay guys

Dude. Its simple economics^

You cant look at a singular trend and come of with something when you got 15 other factors you need to account for

Indeed.  Those are the 2 exceptions to the common rule that a new console is 'always' outsold by its predecessor in the first year.

There are too many factors involved for me to want to elaborate at the moment but with few exceptions (as already noted and they were cross-platform exceptions at that) the new console it usually outsold by the older generation model in the first and sometimes even second year depending upon regional launch staggering.

I would say that those 3 "exceptions" to the common rule are actually evidence for the trend that the first place console will outsell the older generations starting off. If we assume the Ps4 will be the leader (which many people think it will be) then we can assume it will follow the pattern of outselling previous gens... Especially when Sony will wipe out over a quarter of the Ps3's sales for the year in a single weeks worth of data

But not exactly.  Given that not every new leader outsold the previous gen leader right away (year 1).  As I noted before, many factors play a role in how that all plays out.

Based on what I see, I expect the PS4 and Xone to launch with solid numbers but then fall back into expected patterns that new consoles typically find themselves in...numbers below the generation they replace.

In Wii/Ps3/360/Ps2/Ps1/SNES/NES/N64 standards 83k is not decent.  In xbox/GC/Saturn/Genesis/Wii U... i guess it's decent.

PS3 & 360 had plenty of weeks in there first year that were 80k or under. PS1 and NES likely did as well, both of them were slow starters.

Also note how I said decent, not good or great.

U have to take into account what its been doing. for a console that usually sells 200k+, 80k would be horrible. But for a console that typically sells 20k then 80k for a week is rather decent.
