Forums - Gaming Discussion - Deus Ex Human Revolution not exclusive to Wii U.

Nothing stays exclusive for very long these days

True.  Though Wii systems seem to have the weird legacy of things not staying exclusive and yet somehow also costing way more then the other versions.  Pretty intresting really.

Costs $20 more on Wii U?

..........why?

They had to port it!

Most of the work was already done on the PS360.

Right, I forgot about all those PS3 games released at $80 to cover the porting costs from 360 or PC.

Sounds like you're ignoring 360/PC versions were cheap by the time they were ported to PS3 for $60. They didn't price match.

I'm sure the cost of making the port and anticipated poor sales had something to do with that $50 price tag on the Wii U version of Deus Ex. You don't think so?

I don't care about the exclusivity. I care about that price. What the hell?

I recall reading that 360 and PC were the main development platforms for most third-party games this gen, and that even simultaneous multiplatform releases were technically ported from 360 to PS3. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

What I think is that they certainly ought to anticipate poor sales if they decide to sell a product for almost double its apparent value.

I can only talk about the european market, but most third party WiiU game are at the very least 5 Euros more expensive:

Rayman Legends 45 on PS360, 50 on WiiU

Sonic All star: 45 on the other 50 on WiiU

Resident Evil Revelations ....the same

etc

...and I guess he wanted to include the full priced late ports like

Need for Speed: (still 60 Euros, with the other versions beeing sub 20)

...and the rest

aw crap i keep forgetting about those markets. Sorry guys we dont have that issue in the US Deus Ex notwithstanding

The price is ridiculous. I wonder how the Vita controls are gonna work in comparison to the GamePad. Is it going to be playable and intuitive without the two triggers and buttons in analogs?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Price is

40€ for Wii U, 30€ for PS3/360, 20€ for PC.
$50 for Wii U, $30 for PS3/360.

I'll get the Wii U version.
