It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth compared to the Galaxy games, but it does look substantially upgraded since E3. The level design looks less limited, and there's finally some interesting ideas, like the duplication cherries and the shadow levels.

Bump up from "meh" to "good."

Admit it. I was right, and you jumped to conclusions based on footage from World 1.

I always said would be more than happy to be proven wrong by later footage.

My fears haven't been completely dispelled, mind you; I still think it seems too simple. But this is a step in the right direction.

Simple in what sense? The usual Mario sense which the series has always banked off of?

Simple in that I haven't yet seen the same degree of absolutely devious level design Galaxy 1 and 2 featured. (In most cases through their gavity effects) There's no moments yet where I went "holy crap, that is so freaking clever and awesome."

That said, the duplicate cherries and the shadow level are a definite improvement from what we saw at E3, so maybe the best stuff just hasn't been shown yet.

I should rewatch some Galaxy trailers and see if I can piece together some of this "devious" design from them.

Meh, doesn't look much different from past ones

I'm sure it will be fun, just not for me

It's okay, it's a statistical fact that some people simply hate fun.

It is better than the first trailer... The gameplay and graphics look far better...

Looks like platforming awesomeness. I like it.

Still waiting on a 3D mario game.

In my opinion this is starting to look like an impressive game. I prefer 3D Mario to 2D Mario but I think it combines a perfect blend of both 3D and 2D serving up a slight innovation in the franchise. Maybe we could have another contender for Game of the year?

If Super Mario 3D Land could be a GOTY nominee (and it was nominated), then SM3DW has a shot.
