Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Shin'en: If you can't make great looking games on Wii U, it's not the hardware's fault

Ubisoft hasnt tried fitting an amazing game into 40mb.^

Lol that's neat but has nothing to do with graphics.

Are u trying to funny Ubisoft game are way more technically impressive then shinen and I will take there word over any developer that's making exclusive games

Nano Assault Neo beats anything Ubisoft has done on Wii U to date.

Your kidding right zombie u, splinter cell and assain creed is way more technically advanced then nano assault your just reaching for straws, it's no question any exclusive developer will make there system look more powerful then it really is this goes for naughty dog and Microsoft studios as well

Those games all have only PS3-360 level DX9 effects.

They just don't see fit to invest much time and money in the Wii U versions cos of the small userbase.

I may be a fan, but I am also a bit of a pessimist, haha. I'll believe Ubisoft have changed their stripes when I see proof, until then I don't trust them.

So what's the bet, that you say Watchdogs will be technically better on Wii U compared to PS3/360, and I say it won't?

But you still don't have any evidence that they really are trying there hardest to botch the WII U version do you ? ^_^

what do you mean by change their stripes ?

Yeah that's what the bet is about. So you wanna go or not ? ;)

It's not that they're trying to botch it, it's that they're just not really trying to do the best possible. The evidence is that despite the system having more than  twice as much RAM and newer GPU features, Ubisoft's Wii U games don't feature higher resolution effects or improved textures, like quality ports like Need for Speed Most wanted U and Trine 2: Director's Cut do.

By change their stripes I mean start putting the amount of effort into their Wii U ports that Criterion and Frozenbyte did. That seems a bit nebulous for a bet though, there's no hard, definite terms of victory.

C'mon people, Neo Assault Nano doesn't look that impressive to me at all. I don't think it's doing anything cutting edge in the technical department. 720p ? Really ? Be honest with yourself, this isn't an impressive show case to what the WII U is capable of given the fact that it's an eshop title so I don't expect much from it. Hell even X looks more impressive to me than what they did.

60fps on two screens, (nearly 50% more pixels than just 720p) while doing techniques PS3/360 can't. That's better than anything Ubisoft have accomplished.

Funny how an EA game got on to the WII U eh ?

This time ubisoft is using a different engine compared to anvil for assassin's creed.

Cut them some slack this time, plus I'm pretty the case will be different this time with Watch_dogs considering the time and engine.

That's the thing I like about this bet because it will be unclear as to who the winner will be. So is that a yes or a no on it ?

I won't bet a ban or anything, but you can have the pleasure of saying you were right and I was wrong if watch Dogs is better on Wii U. :)

I'm not trying to bash the game but it just doesn't look impressive at all to showcase the WII U's power and plus there will be better titles than this in the WII U's lifetime. I don't know why your bringing ubisoft in this when this developer hasn't showcased anything much better themselves.

How about you put that in your sig then for 3 months ? :P

the problem isnt making great looking games, the problem is knowing theres no point as the sales will be terrible either way.
