Forums - Sony Discussion - TGS 2013: Sony Confirms 5 Million PS4 for FY2013

intends to sell =/= selling.

and the intention to sell 66% more than wii without japan isn't exactly likely.

edit: now I see it's the fiscal year. that's certainly doable. we'll see how it turns out.

5 million sold by March 2014 seems pretty reasonable to me. About 3 - 3.25 million up until the first week of January and then 2 - 1.75 sold during January - March.

Kool should be easy enough.

Reasonable goal

On another note, can we end the PS4 will outsell total Wii U numbers by the end of 2013 debate?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

do you think thats shipped or sold to consumer?

Nope.

If wii u sells only 500k the rest of the year (very very unlikely), PS4 can beat it(very very unlikely).

Shipped.

I hope people don't whine as much as they usually do when there is gonna be a lack of games for a year... Not trying to bash Sony or anything but this happens with every console including Nintendo and Microsoft

People buy it due to hype... then cry about it for a year cause of a lack of continous games coming out

okay, not nearly as impressive, but is that still really good. how does it compare to other console shipper numbers?

That seems a little high to me. I think they can pull off 3.5mil. Above that would be a stretch. Maybe if the Xbone was still rocking those awful policies, they could easily pull off 5mil.
