Anyone remember that guy on GAF who had leaked information about Nintendo's plans for E3 2013? It was well written, very plausible and much of it seemed well thought out. E3 came and it was all made up bullshit. Personally I love stuff like this. Really elaborate lies are the best lies:D

Yeah, I don't buy most of this. Nintendo's first party developers think the system is underpowered? I'm sorry: I don't buy that when both X and the upcoming Zelda are open world. Open world is one of the first things to go in an underpowered system, and suggests the developers don't know how to use the power they already have.

I can see a lot of third party developers thinking it's underpowered because their business models are basically graphical arms races, but inside Nintendo? Makes no sense.

Now would be a good time to either have a long talk with your friend about his ficticious reality problem or you may want to find another friend.

There is no guarantee that this guy gets his information from anywhere. Saying he heard this from a friend doesn't vindicate him of responsibility for spreading this kind of garbage. OP is a thinking person capable of deciding what is and is not an appropriate "rumor."

Hell, consider the things he "heard" from his friend: that the 3DS would get a 2D remodel and TW101 started development as a Wii game are innocent enough, but why is it that the two "rumors" that were confirmed before they were revealed are the only two that don't outright paint Nintendo in a horrible light? You mean to tell me that this friend, with all his inside info on the deeper workings of Nintendo's Japanese headquarters (such as Miyamoto comments) has nothing but nasty rumors to spread about the company he works at, not a single nice thing to say about them -- oh, but the 2DS is going to happen and TW101 was originally a Wii title.
