Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is the 3ds really that much better than Vita?

Jizz_Beard_thePirate said:

The issue with the the vita is... unlike the 3ds... It doesn't have as many AAA games coming out exclusively but the 3ds has many games coming out that you can play only on the 3ds

If you have a vita and never had a psp/ps3 before... Great... Its a really good console then and there are tons of games for you to buy, but if you have a ps3 or a psp, a lot of games are already on those two consoles or are coming to those consoles vs 3ds... majority of its games aren't coming to the wii, wiiU or any other platform

I guess the biggest let down as a vita/3ds owner is... I have all of these psp games but now I have to pay for them on the vita vs 3ds... I can just play all my ds games

Hardware = Vita
Software = 3ds

the scary thing for Vita fans...is that it does.  From Encharted to Gravity Rush to Little King Story 2 . Sony and 3rd parties have tried their darndest to make the hardware attractive. If the price cut to $200 don't move sales Sony should just ditch the Vita...I don't understand why they are still hanging on to this hardware?

Vita is for those that like to post in forums convincing others how it's the best system.
3DS is for those that like to spend all that time actually playing the games they like.

It is. Not due to the hardware, just for the simple fact that it has far, far better games.

This is actually quite true.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Get this right people, if Nintendo has to develop a 16bit console again it will have THE GAMES like no other futuristic console. Hardware like mathematics is just a tool that help extend the creativity of the developer. I know advanced math, but I am far away from being an Einstein.

I completely respect your opinion, but again, it's your opinion. Obviously, there are much more people who disagree with you because there are much more exclusives and third party support on the 3ds (which is a fact) but then again, Sony really has to start releasing first party titles much more frequently instead of giving the system a price cut and new sku models. Anyways, that's my opinion and obviously people buy handhelds for games and there aren't a lot people buying a vita due to the lack of regular releases like the 3ds has.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

My problems with the Vita are that #1, a majority of the huge games that I would play on it, are virtually just watered down version of those same games I can play on PS3. Now, while you can say the same to a lesser degree about the 3DS, I actually don't play games on the Wii very much. So I don't really give a shit that the Wii has Super Mario Galaxy and it might be a better 3D Mario than Super Mario 3D Land. I have also found that 3DS versions of games lend themselves to a portable experience much more than Vita/PSP games. And #2, those memory card prices. LOL. I simply cannot enter into a situation where I am dependent on such massively overpriced proprietary shenanigans.

So to me, yes, the 3DS is that much better.
