It's not had any significant releases since Skyward sword, its ran out of steam in a dramatic fashion but it's made 100m... finally.

That's an impressive feat even if once upon a time it looked capable of much more.

Only 2 other home consoles have achieved this, will Wii ever see a 4th???

PS3 sales are incredible.

I doubt PS3 will reach 100m, as for PS4, it looks like it will probably do that, it's got momentum.

is FF14 a proper game like the others int he series or is it that online crap no one wanted? was that 15 lol?

I don't know it's around 80m right now.  I could see it getting another 20 over the next few years especially considering it's still at $200 (even for 12gb).  I'm sure it'll have a good holiday with GT6 and $150 BF bundles.  Especially considering PS4 has no backwards compatibility.  I mean honestly I don't have a huge amount of faith in cloud based backwards compatibility.

As for PS3, I think 100M is now a real possibility at the end of it's life.

14 is the online crap that over 200,000 people wanted. 15 is the game that many believe will revive their love for the series.

btw FF14 is hardly crap, if SQEX didnt list the online games in the main series i doubt they would get as much hate. i bought a ps3 copy and am loving it. i would renew my sub after free trial too if it wasnt for Pokemon coming out. i have no time for other games when i have pokemon

Playstation Platforms always live very long. Just look at dat PSP! I say the PS3 will reach 100m pretty easy and it could very well be the top dog of gen 7 when all is said and done. That would be three top consoles in a row for Sony, would be quite a accomplishment
