Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dragon Age: Inquisition on Xbox 360 Won’t Look as Good as on PC, Newer Consoles…or PS3

During a panel held yesterday at PAX Prime, Dragon Age: Inquisition Lead Designer Mike Laidlaw dropped a very interesting (and slightly garbled) statement on how the game will perform on different platforms, caught on film by Youtube user yaypony.

At this point Executive Producer Mark Darrah came to the rescue:

Laidlaw continued:

While the fact that the Xbox 360 version won’t look as good as the PC version or the next generation console versions was to be expected, it’s interesting to see it defined inferior to the PS3 version as well.

There’s the slight possibility that the addition of “or the PS3″ at the end of the sentence meant to bunch it with the Xbox 360, meaning that both Xbox 360 and PS3 will look inferior to PC and the next generation consoles, but considering the wording and the fact that Laidlaw continues to talk in singular form makes it quite unlikely.

We reached out to Bioware for a clarification on the issue, and we’ll keep you updated if we receive any further information or a clarifying statement. You can check out the video below.

Did the developers finally learn how to develop correctly for the PS3? :D

X360 and PS3? I thought this game was being released only in next gen platforms.

Releasing on PS3 and 360 is a mistake, wastes time, money and resources to make the game excellent instead of just good. I'll buy a next gen console for this game (as long as it's more like DAO than 2, bloody dialog wheel better be gone, I don't want to know my choices).

Hmm, pie.

I think he meant to bunch the 360 and PS3 together, I highly doubt the team took the time to fully utalize the cell in the PS3.

Why not? The first dragon age also looked better on PS3. They know the tech now, not everyone does lazy ports.

Really doesn't matter at all, it will probably only be a difference that you can see if you have them side by side

All the information coming out about this game does sound great though

This exactly. I mean, I thought there was an info it's also coming to current gens but I thought it was shot down quickly. Seems it was legit, shame.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

almost every multiplat game looks better on ps3 or 360 so not really a surprise that it is the case with this as well.

Honestly who cares, the game will do better on next gen consoles, since they are the lead platforms along with pc. Current gen versions will just be ports for cash grabs.

Yes that was actually more surprising to me to read. I never thought it would come to the resent consoles also. I guess this will be the case for a while huh!
