Is their a release date for Halo on Xbone?

It said 2014. However they hinted that it wouldn't be Halo 5.

It is an impressive launch lineup like the Wii U's was considered impressive. However it might have problems relying on 3rd partys (which Wii U did not have) throughout 2014 until the holidays. PS4's launch lineup is decent and at least one 1st party is in early Q1 2014. And The Order 1886 will probably be set in Q2 or Q3 with new games from SSM or ND around Q4.

Overall seems to me like Q4 2013: MS>Sony
Q1 2014: Sony= or > MS
Q2-3 2014: Sony>MS
Q4 2014: Sony= MS

However another thing that will hurt MS in Q4 2013 is launch countries.

Q1 for PS4 has Infamous, what else?

X1 has Kinect Sports Rivals, Titanfall and Project Spark.

Beyond that I have no idea when their other games are launching.

Q1 they have Infamous which is considered the biggest or 2nd biggest PS4 title atm. I am not sure about Project Sparks selling power or Kinect. If Xbox One launches in very few countries by then, then both those titles might not be able to push it. Titanfall is a wildcard because it is on PC and 360 as well so could have the same effect as the the other 2 titles. Thus I think it at least Sony = MS.

After the things i heard about Killer instinct and Ryse, i dont think they have such a good line-up anymore.

What things?

Bugs, QTE's, microtransactions, unfinished content, etc. I can tell a mile away that Ryse is gonna be bad. KI is gonna be ok, but not good enough for the fighting community. It seems to also have a very limited roster of 8 fighters.

Is this article talking about launch lineup or first year lineup (2013 - end of 2014)?

If its talking about launch lineup then I don't get why it mentions Halo. No mentions of Project Spark though, but in any case I would agree that MS has a stronger, more varied exclusive lineup than Sony.

If its talking about first year lineup then the article is waaay off, we really don't know enough about the 2014 lineup.

He's going to think you made that up.

It was all here in these forums. I dont really care if he believes or not though. :)

Its Microsoft, and the last thing they deserve at this point is blind faith.

The mutliplayer build shown at Gamesom was a few weeks old.

QTE's as well as microtransaction are optional.

I kinda agree that the rooster seems a litte but Ken Lob did have this to say:

1) It is a platform. New seasons/characters/levels/etc will be added to the existing platform (game). You will not be buying Killer Instinct 2, 3, 4, etc. and everything being separate.

2) If you purchase 1 or 2 individual characters, purchasing the full game will not be $20, it will be discounted due to the money you already invested in the game.

3) There will be some type of story mode, the idea right now is shadow jago will be the final boss. He was unhappy with KI1 and KI2's bosses

4) They are working on adding online to the port of Killer Instinct.

5) Season/Round 2 should launch by holiday 2014 but very well may be sooner if they keep up their current pace.

You forgot Project Spark which I believe could be the sleeper killer app.

What? Did you read who the author of the title is?

How is this not gaming press?

It's Forbes.

About the next Halo not being Halo 5, or the true successor of Halo 4:

Judging by the teaser the game is set after the events of Halo 4, so no prequel. And with it being a legitamate entry to the Reclaimer-Saga, originally a trilogy, how can it be a spin-off or a non-major Halo game?
