Already got one in July for £150. Gamescom was better than E3 for the platform by far. It got a load of game announcements but because they were mostly indie they get treated like they don't exist!

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

The only thing in the West that will salvage the Vita is a Vita Phone IMO sold under the Sony Xperia line that actually plays all the Vita/PSP/PSOne library.

All other things being equal, I'd buy that Android phone in a slider design.

Now that the Vita only costs somewhat more than the competition and has even more old ports, it will surely succeed!

Love and tolerate.

Too much emphasis on price. Yes, this will help, but without the software to back it up, it's not a long term solution. Games. They need games, and I'm actually less optimistic about the Vita's future after this show.

I'm not sure how that happened, it's not like the price is going up and games are being removed from the console.

It's simple.  I was holding out hope that Sony would announce some compelling software for it.  And they didn't.  Hence, I'm less optimistic.

I can see where he is coming from: Before the show, there was at least the slight chance that Sony would try to back the system with some heavy hitters (GTA, FF Type O Vita edition, something, SOMETHING new by a firstparty studio like Gran Turismo/God of War) to go with the pricecut....what we got was a bunch of multiplar indie games, a late port of Borderlands 2 and a free to play game....

Sony seems to enjoy the Vita as a glorified controller...and considering that Tearaway and Killzone were revealed @Gamescom 2012 and they STILL haven´t been released...I can see why he isn´t hopeful that it will get a push.

It´s not that I don´t like indie games, but there needs to be something bigger to look forward too !

A price drop on a system that has very little/no appealing games will not help it very much. The vita is doomed to 2nd place vs the 3ds just like the psp was to the ds.

Nintendo is unstoppable in the handheld business.

i think the polls speaks the mindset of most gamers here. a port of a year old game and a 50 dollar price cut won't save the Vita, especially with the 3DS being at 160$ and Pokemon XY and Monster Hunter 4 on the horizon.
