In response to the original post, yeah, that'd be pretty cool. I've actually never played any of the Playstation One Final Fantasies yet. I definitely plan to soon, but it'd certainly be nice if they received an update before I started/finished through six. I have a brilliant idea of playing them all in chronological release order back in middle school some eight years ago, and I only just finished five last week (in my defense, haven't been huge on any of the ones I've played so far, hence the ridiculously long play time)...

Thats what it would've been though, a surprise.  This news could've come up anywhere and you could've been the first to break it to the vgc community, how are we supposed to know?  I mean usually things like this are followed by at least 10 exclamation points but maybe you werent a final fantasy fan and just thought youd pass along the word?  Stuff like this has to be brought to light at some point, why not now?  Dont be so pretentious, we are gamers after all and any news like this get all of us nerds way too excited.  You should know better.

Would make no sense for them to jump straight to 9.

I'm still waiting for FF5 and 6 remakes. I really don't feel like the PS1 titles need to be remade, especially not 8 and 9.
