I was talking about the 6 million global hardware sells mark factor, and how consumers take complete control on whether or not a system sells, and by how much and base upon what they deem worthy, and etc.

This is a copy cat of MS's "firs to 10 million wins". Nonese. Pure and utter nonsense.

I keep telling you people that the PS4 will hit 6 million first, follow by the Wii U. I don't know when the Xbox ONE will get there, but no time soon, I would assume.

And that has no bearing on anything. I don't know what to tell you, don't be so easily led believing this rubbish.

When a Video Game System hits 6 million in Global Hardware Sells, things change drastically for either better or worse.

And it always comes down to what is currently available, plus what's coming out in the next 3 to 6 months.

Sorry if you don't get any of this. But I'm letting you know how this industry seriously works like, 100% of the time for the past many years

So if this is how it works 100% of the time, can you give me 10 examples where things changed drastically for a video game system upon hitting 6 million?

The PS3 needed certain key titles and features and price point to sell, and same goes for 360.

the 3DS & PS Vita sells show it.

The PSP sells show it.

The DS sells show it.

The Wii U has more better weekly sells in 2014 then 2013 being in the watery territory of 5.X million.

I predict when 8th Gen Home Consoles get there, they will show it as well.

The Wii was selling on futuristic aspects.

So 6 to 9 reasons is all I got on the top of my head.

(so excluding the Wii, I got my proof, and it diffintely proves so when it comes to Sony & Microsoft)

I guess Nintendo Home Consoles are the only wild card. But I predict that it has ended with the Wii.

Where do u keep coming up with this 6 million theory? U keep saying Iit but not explaining it

Well, Nintendo talked about the 6 million hardware units sold, and said once a system reaches there' word of mouth will do everything else from there, for better or worse, depending on if it's worthy of being owned by the people, and that the 3DS will start selling great once it gets to 6 million without Nintendo having to do any marketing nor advertising nor anything for that matter.

So Satoru Iwata, is the one you would have to ask about this. (I read it back in 2011, when the 3DS wasn't even at 5 million)

Who cares if Iwata said it. It's PR bullshit. Didn't Microsoft say they were going to sell 1 billion XBOs? Are you going to believe that too?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

'I anticipate that it will get to fifty bajillion sells because of the future and didn't Iwata say?'

It's going to blow Kaizar's mind when the Xbox One passes Wii U LTD in a few months.

You know... in sells.

The PS3 had already basically improved its poor sales from early to mid 2007 by the time it hit 6 million, and it didn't improve significantly until late 2009 when it was over 23 million.

The 3DS turned around when it got a price cut which was before it hit 6 million, the Vita hitting 6 million seems to have done little.  It was doing bad before and it's doing bad now.

The PSP started out fairly well and continued doing fairly well for most of its life.  Not sure what change at 6 million this was supposed to show.

The DS hit 6 million in July 2005, and didn't start doing huge numbers until 2006.  Again, there seems to have been no significance to 6 million.

The first week of 2014 is down YoY for the Wii U, not sure what you are talking about.  Week 2 looks like it might be down as well based on Japanese numbers.  Apparently that "watery territory" isn't doing much.

The Wii was selling out before hit hit 6 million and kept doing it till it was over 40 million.  Once again, nothing special about hitting 6 million.

You seem to have no proof whatsoever.  I really have no clue how you get these ideas into your head.  6 million is some magic number, the 3DS only gets games because of 3D, the only games PS3/360 have are RE6 and FF13, etc etc.

The Tale of the Benevolent Dad of Nintendo & The Very Naughty Children of Third-Parties
Part III - The Dad's Secret Weapon - The Soothsayer Fan Neighbor

The Third Party children were hunkering down with their new Middleware Pooch, happily cranking out game after game and bringing them to market, while good Daddy Nintendo stuck to his guns and produced quality craftsmanship, creating works so wondrous and perfect that nobody understood or really enjoyed them (NintendoLand, Wonderful 101). Just then, he overheard a ruckus outside. Going to his big fatherly window, he espied some of the neighbor kids standing on their lawn, calling out for all the world to hear.

"There are those who say the benevolent Father who lives in this house," here the children pointed at Big Daddy NinNin's home, "has lost his way. That he no longer produces pleasantry for the people! If you'll stop and listen to me for forty five minutes rambling on in a novella length screed I've pulled from my sainted ass, I will SHOW you that Ol' Pappy Nintendo is really none other than FATHER NINTENDOMINATION!"

Big Pop Nintendo-man laughed, gripping his fat belly as it jiggled and wriggled. Young lads like this neighbor folk were exactly how Nintendo knew his masterfully laid-out plan to destroy all other companies - all while looking like he was selling less than his competitors by far - would truly come to fruition. With the young neighbor proselytizing to those who had lost the faith, Dear Father Nintendo knew his herd of sheep-like third-party children would soon come back into the fold. So he could murder them and put them out of business forever.

The young neighbor children didn't always sound too clear on that: was Daddy Nintendo going to take back his flock of departing, wayward third-party children or slaughter them like helpless goslings? Nintendo, sitting back down at his workstation, decided it didn't really matter so much. No specific fact really mattered. All that mattered was his SUPER SECRET PLAN, which is already starting to work.

"I'll lure those third-parties and other consoles into a false sense of complacency, by hemorrhaging money," he chuckled, putting the finishing touches on a game by carefully slicing off anything resembling achievements, "then I'll produce a one-two punch that is sure to stop them in their tracks: I'll have the worst second-holiday console sales in Nintendo history and THEN have my shares shed a fifth of their value in a few hours when I cut my FY 2013 consoles sales forecasts down to less than a THIRD of what I've maintained for an entire year!"

Father Daddy Nintendo laughed and laughed, to the point where spittle flecked his old white beard. To the point where he began to scare himself. To a point where he could not stop.

"Oh yes," he said, through the laughter that was echoing off the walls of his empty house, "they won't know what hit them, will they? My plan..." he guffawed, "is already working!"

He glanced at the pale reflection of his haggard face in the window as the neighbor child, across the lawn, cried "Nintendo will sell 240 million consoles IN TWO DAYS!"

"Yes," said Daddy Nintendo, still laughing, tears streaming down his cheeks, "already working."

LOL :) That was incredible! Laughed my ass off at all 3 parts! Round of applause for VitroBahlee because he nailed the johnlucas impression. Well done sir!

John Lucas; everyone here knows the gist of what I've been saying in here, Nintendo not following market movements, failing to read the market, especially in the West, they need to stop relying solely on tradition etc. All that nonsense I've been spouting.

Guess who very recently said the exact same things, almost as if he read my posts and had an epiphany?

CEO of Nintendo Corporation, Mr. Satoru Iwata is in full agreement with my assessment going for quite some time and ever since before the Wii U launched. How's that for a prophet?
Notice that he never once puts the blame on consumers being stupid or 3rd parties playing politics, it's all in your head.

Have that seat, as you say.

VitroBahllee: you, sir, have climbed all the way towards the very top of my favorite users list in only a few days, your posts are immensely funny and well written! Kudos!

Kaizar: You should stop arguing in here and on this topic, you're making less and less sense and there wasn't much to begin with. Please understand.

End of 2016 hardware sales:

Wii U: 15 million. PS4: 54 million. One: 30 million. 3DS: 64.8 million. PSVita: 15.2 million.

Nintendo ready to change? I have my doubts. But if they want to make some easy money then they should dump their NES/SNES library onto smartphones and sell games for a dollar each. Or even better, put some GBA games on the damn eshop. Is there any concievable reason why Nintendo hasn't done that already? The virtual console on the WiiU and 3DS is a complete joke.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Lots of pollution in my thread lately.

Get your licks in now. Get it ALL out of your system.
Nothing changes what I foretold.
I don't care HOW it looks right now.
Nintendo will get what they want out of this generation.

Since you guys obviously miss my presence here, you'll get all you can handle this weekend.
But JGarret gets the first response like I said a few days ago.
John Lucas

Okay, it's the weekend now.

It seems you've won. Congratulations. That being said, I hope you realise that JL wasn't alone in his forecast of Nintendo doing decent this fiscal, right? Several analysts just a couple of months ago was convinced Nintendo would at the very least ship 6 million WiiU units. You ask why they would do such a forecast? Like JL, i suppose they thought Nintendo had something big for the 4th quarter (jan-march) and Nintendo would be able to cater to the family market like they always do during the 3rd quarter (oct-dec). They probably where also aware of Nintendo's upcoming immense marketing budget for the period.

As it turns out, those efforts to raise awareness didn't help much at all; the family market didn't bite, the Nintendo fans didn't bite, and Iwata's recent revisal of their forecast suggest they have absolutely nothing up their sleeve for this fiscal year. This also means they will have almost no 3rd party support for the first half of calendar 2014 to raise momentum, and they will not be able to support WiiU with 1st and 2nd party exclusives on a monthly basis like they've been doing with 3DS.

In conclusion; they will not be able to build any sort of momentum between jan-june, and they know it. They simply do not have the resources to deliver AAA games on a monthly basis like with 3DS, so how could they build momentum? JL most likely banked on Nintendo being able to replicate the 3DS strategy and transfer it to WiiU. As it turns out - they just can't.

Nothing short of an Angry Birds/Wii Sports/Minecraft phenomenon can save WiiU in the short term. Without something like that, WiiU will go nowhere.

Edit: JL isn't drdre. Here's some quotes from a well known someone belonging to the world of wrestling:

"Dwanta Claus is comin' to town…

Posted this last Christmas. Awesome memory.

Can't top this gift, so its Burger King & iTunes gift cards for mom this year…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!"

"Positive energy and intensity have become my teams DNA as they work tirelessly to delivery an epic movie.

Proud of my make up artists "Sticazzi" Matteo & "I Just Burnt My F*cking Eyelashes" Rob.

Our jokes are DIRTY and our passion is STRONG."

"Abhijeet flew all the way from India to Budapest in hopes to meet me and say how much I inspire him (He also wouldn't say goodbye w/out giving me a big ass hug;).

Can't express enough what encounters like this mean to me. Little do these men & women (and kids) know, I ALWAYS walk away just as inspired & grateful. Thank you.

I will now go do something TOUGH & BAD ASS cause this post is getting way to sensitive and I'm feeling like the manly version of Oprah."

I hope this gives you people a hint of what JL has really been doing:D
