Game looks great so far, but unfortunately is getting a lot of flack from people who will probably never buy the game regardless due to being Forza fans.
Considering the level of dynamic objects in the background as well as the dynamic light sources, dynamic weather, dynamic time cycles, dynamic sky and foilage, I can't think of any game last generation which was able to do this (for those who said it looks like a last gen game).
The other very odd thing is how everyone keeps complaining about it being boring as it is just about racing a car and challenging friends although the developer clearly stated there will also be a full single player campaign and they will keep updating the game with lots of other events and challenges.
The silliest thing I have heard after all the above is people speaking about Drive Club offering nothing new, being last gen and then going on about the new need for speed game or the crew being ground breaking and not last gen at all. Anyone who has played Burnout Paradise, a game which is almost as old as the current generation of consoles will know this is nothing new. The crew is just adding co-op play for missions and Need for Speed is just updating visuals. One must be a fool to think they are anything more than an update on a 6+ year old game.
This is not to defend DC, considering we have not even seen anything close to what the final product will be since all we have seen is an off screen demo which was representative of a 35% complete build, but it is to prove that people are just making stupid statements as if they haven't played any racer from the current gen, but have played the completed DC game.
As for me, I can't help but be excited. The team making this game is made of some of the devs who are responsible for some of the best arcade racers to have graced current gen; Motorstorm, PGR, Grid 2 and GT.
