Forums - Sony Discussion - DriveClub Gameplay Footage Revealed

Everybody should notice the daylight(reflecting real time of the day) which is changing over the race is really great.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

I need to add here...

The gamersyde editor (that posted a lot of offscreen gameplay footage from the game) mentioned that the game's lighting is just unfilmable with a camera, and offscreen footage does not represent it properly.

If you told me this was a Need for Speed sequel releasing this year on PS3/360, I'd believe it.

A shame because I love Evolution Studios. Hope to see a next gen Motorstorm.

Though off-screen, I think it looks great.

thank god i thought i was the only one who thought it looks good.. the real time shadows light, road texture, world details everything in this offscreen looks damn good dont know what people are complaining about... would love to see what they have for GC hopefully more than 50% complete

Still offscreen, it is time for Sony to actually release some direct feed footage!

Anyway, I would rather have another Motorstorm.... I will play the PS+ version, but NfS Rivals looks more fun to me

Looks really good. Need to see direct feed footage of course to finally judge it.

Game looks great so far, but unfortunately is getting a lot of flack from people who will probably never buy the game regardless due to being Forza fans.

Considering the level of dynamic objects in the background as well as the dynamic light sources, dynamic weather, dynamic time cycles, dynamic sky and foilage, I can't think of any game last generation which was able to do this (for those who said it looks like a last gen game).

The other very odd thing is how everyone keeps complaining about it being boring as it is just about racing a car and challenging friends although the developer clearly stated there will also be a full single player campaign and they will keep updating the game with lots of other events and challenges.

The silliest thing I have heard after all the above is people speaking about Drive Club offering nothing new, being last gen and then going on about the new need for speed game or the crew being ground breaking and not last gen at all. Anyone who has played Burnout Paradise, a game which is almost as old as the current generation of consoles will know this is nothing new. The crew is just adding co-op play for missions and Need for Speed is just updating visuals. One must be a fool to think they are anything more than an update on a 6+ year old game.

This is not to defend DC, considering we have not even seen anything close to what the final product will be since all we have seen is an off screen demo which was representative of a 35% complete build, but it is to prove that people are just making stupid statements as if they haven't played any racer from the current gen, but have played the completed DC game.

As for me, I can't help but be excited. The team making this game is made of some of the devs who are responsible for some of the best arcade racers to have graced current gen; Motorstorm, PGR, Grid 2 and GT.

Good words... I agree... I think it is too early to say what DriveClub is... can be a mess or success? I don't know yet.

About The Crew what I liked is the Burnout MMO way... nothing new but I liked the concept.

Hmmm im worried about what the guy says in the video. He says its aimed at hardcore car enthusiasts? I thought this was meant to be a more arcadey game? Im wondering if this is gonna be one of those games that does badly and gets bad reviews because it tries to be two games in one...I hope not. It also seems odd if it is a game like that because GT6 is releasing at pretty much the exact time. I think Sony got this one wrong.

Game looks amazing though, people who are saying it looks like a ps3/360 game is surely just trying to get a reaction.

Think PGR.Easy to get into and hard to master. Just over the all fun racing.
