Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Official Xenoblade Chronicles X thread - The World is 5x bigger than First Xenoblade

I have temporarily revived this thread in order to remind people of three things:
- We still aren't sure of the game's official title. Will it still be X upon release? That would be odd.
- Nintendo is being a bit vague about whether or not the game is connected (narrative-wise) to Xenoblade. I think Nintendo should be playing up the "successor to acclaimed RPG" angle. :/
- It's not too early for someone *cough* to make a sales prediction thread, I say. Heck, I made my prediction shortly after Nintendo Direct (1.6 million lifetime) and I still stand by it.

- Since they still list it as "New Wii U game by Monolith Soft" in their highlight reel and such, it's safe to say X is just a placeholder title.

- The guy at the end of the first trailer (my avatar) does look like Shulk from Xenoblade, but yeah, we'll have to wait and see. Definiterly agree that they should be playing the "from the creators of Xenoblade" angle.

- I forecast about the same sales as Xenoblade personally; smaller console install base, but it's no longer a new IP and it wont arrive in the console's twilight.

Relative to Xenoblade, I expect higher sales in North America and Japan. Not so sure about Europe. One million is my low end, and if it sells below that, then I'd chalk it up as the eighth-gen Okami.

If the game reviews as well as Xenoblade, I think it'll affect what people generally expect from Wii U, Nintendo, and RPGs in general.

I'd say Xenoblade already did that. ;)

I can definitely see it being a system seller if it reviews as well as Xenoblade did. It's the kind of game that will draw in gamers who would otherwise have skipped Wii U; in other words, precisely what NIntendo needs with its current lineup aiming too exclusively on their established fanbase in my opinion.

oh I will change the title as soon we know the official name of the game

Cannot wait for this game. It is the reason I went with a Wii U this generation.

I'll be joining you in the next few months. I don't I've ever been more hyped for a single game.

It ties in with just about everything I am into. Rpg, robots, sci fi.

Combine flying mechs, incredible environmental variety (RPGs desperately need more of this), and Star Wars-ish blending of sci-fi and fantasy elements. Hit puree and let it blend for a few years. Release on a platform that would otherwise lack a major RPG.

Pretty much a good forumla for a cult hit. With any luck, it'll make a respectable profit too.

If the game is marketed well enough, I think it could pass Xenoblade comfortably worldwide. But they have to treat it similarly to their own major IPs to have it sell well.

And they won't, sadly. Nintendo never push their non-Mario games like they should.

I need updates

Nintendo tease us so much, don't wait till e3 to show more footage of the game.
