Man... Nintendo... Why?

My favorite Nintendo commercial was definitely the Mario Kart DS one with that Japanese Luigi dude. Please go look it up on youtube. I can't post a link on this stupid 3DS...

I like it! and I am 28 years old

Well if they're only targeting 10 year old kids, I guess its ok.

The great thing about nintendo's advertising during the DS/wii era. Is that they were able to market their games (even niche ones, to a really wide audience and capture the imagination of adults and casual gamers.

It was slightly cool.

Had they used an older actress instead of the kid, and another narrator, it would have been much better.

I liked it

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Nintendo has been marketing to kids primarily with the Wii U and 3DS for sure in North America.

Not only do most of their recent ads primarily feature a kid, but also with stuff like Reggie saying NOA won't sell white/black/silver model 3DS' because their sales data shows those more "adult" colors don't sell, whereas red and blue do for the XL.

Also, I was wondering why I never saw any Nintendo commercials on TV anymore ... until I went over to my friends house to baby sit my goddaughter ... the ads run on Cartoon Network and Nickeldeon and other kids networks.

Apparently though Nintendo on the Japanese side is the one micromanaging Nintendo's marketing here too, so they probably are looking at their sales data and concluding its better to focus on kids. I think they may be conceeding that Sony/MS have locked up the teenager/adult crowd once the Wii Sports/Fit crazes fizzled out.
