Just wait for Retro Studios

We already waited.

Answer the question.

the answer is no Because nintendo clearly doesn't care about graphics, just look at there hardware for the past 2 gens, i don't think wiiu games will ever surpass the best of ps3 or 360 for that reason.

On the Wii Nintendo did push the system though, with games like Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime 3. While difficulty adjusting to HD development can account for some of their lack of visual ambition on Wii U, the design of the games in question, (essentially Wii stuff in HD) shows they're not even attempting to push the envelope in most cases. It's no surprise something doesn't get accomplished if nobody even attempts it.

ok on wii they pushed the console with 2 games but honestly it never looked better then the best of xbox imo and your talking about tech that they had experiance with for over 7 years, while there are just learning how to developer hd games with programable shaders.

Maybe so, but I don't see that as a problem. The priority should be on game design, not on pushing the graphical capabilities of the hardware.

We've got to drop this collective delusion that high-powered hardware and supercharged graphics are somehow cutting edge in video game design. Developers made masterworks in the 1980s and 1990s with far less.

I don't care if I can see my reflection on my sports car; I don't care if the game can process 1,001 goblins with visible scars and blemishes; I don't care if I can discern a sailboat five nautical miles in the distance. I just want a game that's fun to play with an interesting, coherent art style, and tight, responsive controls. That's it.

Wow this is like a parallel universe, you pointing out to me that Nintendo are inexperienced with the hardware, haha. We've switched!

Wii vs Xbox is complicated; Xbox had more flexible shaders, Wii had a stronger CPU and could handle its fixed effects better.

I'm saying that even putting aside the execution of Nintendo Wii U graphics, their actual design is very simple.

SMGs are some of the best looking games of the 7th gen, including many PS360 games.Deal with it.

It's only a year by year thing for people like you who only see amount of pixels and textures or polygons or whatever.

People who aren't technical whores see graphics differently, in a less shallow way.

they arent. not even close. deal with it.

But the Wii U hardware is very capable of producing great looking games, what's missing is the studios who would actually do it.

I shadown edited my comment to make more clear.

"No studio will fix that disadvantage... Wii U hardware is weak... that is a fact but that was not a big issue for others consoles in the past "

When you say "great looking games" you need a time comparision... for example I think Donkey Kong Country a great looking game for 1990 but not for 1995.

Wii U can make great looking games for 2010 but not for 2014... somethink like that... great Studios won't change that.

And graphycs didn't means that the console is goor or bad... if it will have comercial success or not.

Edit - TLOU visual are outdated... great looking game for the late PS3 life but outdated for what PS4/Xbone shows... so everybody is asking a PS4 version of the game

Ethomaz, DKC was launched in 1994 and was a revolution in graphical terms, DKC was so good that it was better than almost all Playstation launch games, so it has really good graphics for 1995. I think DKC has better graphics than Uncharted series or Gran Turismo if you use the "time comparison".

You mean Wii U's biggest disadvantage is lacking a studio dedicated to making AAA games?

I don't mind that at all.

"Even the 1st party who pushed the Wii's limits, like Tokyo EAD and Retro, seem content to do Wii-graphics-in-HD on Wii U."

I stopped reading here.

The main concern with WiiU hardware is and will always be bandwidth, even with eDRAM, the main bandwidth is really too low. PS3 already struggled in some part of its life cycle cause of its relative low bandwidth, but wiiU has only a quarter of that. It means nothing to have eventually a more modern gpu and double the ram if your bandwidth is too low, you can't even utilize that amount of ram per frame. At 30 fps, WiiU can only use around 400 MB (12.8 GB/s / 30). It was major mistake by Nintendo about this Hardware.

The think about Wii U is hardware in the first place... the hardware is way behind PS4 and Xbone.

Neither Naughty Dog, Santa Monica or other studio can make Wii U, PS3 or 360 games looks like PS4 or Xbone.

wii u's hardware isn't way behind ps4 and xone. neither you nor any hater can change that.
