Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U's main graphical disadvantage is the lack of a studio like Naughty Dog or Santa Monica

the problem is clearly the wiiu hardware and not the developers, just look at the best looking wiiu games, neverything looks on par with cuurent gen, AA is not better, textures are not better, nothing is really better, and mgs v and GTA5 look so much better then X its not even funny.

X, Bayonetta and MK8 look very good. Waiting for Zelda and Metroid. Guess there will be few games that takes advantage but EAD with SS and TP did a good job on Wii.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Name a Wii U game made from the ground up by a talented developer to be graphically intensive. Oh wait, that's right, there aren't any. Nobody's tried.

it doesnt really matter though, had nintendo made decent hardware, they at the least would have jaggie free games, even current gen games running at a very high setting on pc look so much better then current gen.

the answer is no Because nintendo clearly doesn't care about graphics, just look at there hardware for the past 2 gens, i don't think wiiu games will ever surpass the best of ps3 or 360 for that reason.

On the Wii Nintendo did push the system though, with games like Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime 3. While difficulty adjusting to HD development can account for some of their lack of visual ambition on Wii U, the design of the games in question, (essentially Wii stuff in HD) shows they're not even attempting to push the envelope in most cases. It's no surprise something doesn't get accomplished if nobody even attempts it.

I dissagree, alot of Nintendo's upcoming titles look great. They could look better but its not a big deal because of their artstyle. The issue is 3rd party titles won't stack up to ps4/One.

Theres no way I'd choose to play a next gen Mass Effect, Fallout, Skyrim, Final Fantasy etc on the Wii U as opposed to a PS4/One. That thinking has sat with me from the minute the Wii U was announced. Had I been confident that it would have highly competent versions of next gen titles, I would have bought one by now. But I don't have trust in that so I instead have to be won over by exclusives only, which makes the system a much harder sell.
