Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The stunning graphics and brutal gameplay of 'Ryse: Son of Rome'

I love what I see so far looking forward to playing this game.

Graphics are stunning, but the combat system feels way too automated. I guess we'll learn more later.

We have already learned. It just seems many fanboys dont want to acknowledge that its a fact the QTE's are optional and that the enemy life was taken down to 35% for the E3 playthrough Demo.

so it won't play much at all like the demo they let everyone play at E3?  That seems like a stupid choice on their part if you ask me.  What they showed off was not impressive in the least for gameplay so they probably should have done something different for the demo.  We'll just have to see, so now all we know is the full game will be different, but the demo played at E3 was fairly lame.

No I was talking about the E3 conference demo. The showfloor one gave the player the option. Did VGC have any staff there? You guys should know this already, instead of lettng the Ryse threads get clogged with the same false info time and time again.

Ryse finising moves as seen in countless showfloor gameplay i entirely upto the player just as in GOW3. Many media are reporting of a dfferent part of the game played behind closed dors by media that made them really excited for the combat in Ryse. And say its categorically not on rails. The layer just has the option of making it cinematic like GOW3.

Here. People playing Ryse at E3. Notice the player ignoring the button prompts aka like GOW3?

i think they said they slowed it down for e3. hopefully they get the frame rate up. it wouldve been great if this was a targeted for 60fps but forza this is not and all the stuff going on around you its the sacrifice of "not targeting the high end graphics" but as much as i been on spartacus lol this will be a day one for me. mp is coliseum style

Oh I mostly meant the enemy health, was that changed for the demo as well?

Well to be honest most of my staff would easily pick Ryse as the worst thing at the MS press conference and I sent a writer to try the demo and he wasn't too enthused by that either: http://www.gamrreview.com/preview/90180/ryse-son-of-rome-doesnt-inspyre-confydence/

But that was based off the demo on the floor (and again I think if they had something better to show they shouldn't have kept it a big secret) so the full game could certainly be different, but as of yet what they've shown (like literally shown, not shown in secret to a select few) has seemed uninspired to say the least.

...

It looks like God Of War III but without the godliness. The combat and sense of scale aren't quite GOW level, and nothing can be said about the story.

If this game outsells Rome 2 my mind will be blown.
Also from the 2 mins footage i have seen from this game is pretty historically innacurate, why not go all out like GoW?

So what if they final game will play totally different than the demo on the E3 showfloor/the trailer? You can't judge people for judging what they actually played btw. the articles written about what the writers played.
