Panic has announced that Untitled Goose Game has sold over one million copies. Untitled Goose Game came out in September 2019 and was exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, Panic has not revealed any platform-specific sales so we don’t know how profitable the PC version was.

Fanatical's last Star Deal of the year is DOOM, 74% off for the next 48 hours: https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/doom

And today's free Epic Store game, that is also the last of the daily free games, is Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/yooka-laylee-and-the-impossible-lair/home

Alien Genesis is an Unreal Engine 4 fan project that looks absolutely stunning
https://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/alien-genesis-is-an-unreal-engine-4-fan-project-that-looks-absolutely-stunning/
Wayne Dalton, Senior Environment Artist, has shared some truly amazing screenshots from his latest Unreal Engine 4 project. Alien Genesis is a real-time low-poly sci-fi interior personal project, featuring the Nostromo from the 1979 movie Alien.
Now contrary to our previous Unreal Engine 4 story, these screenshots what is feasible on current-gen hardware. In other words, don’t expect mind-blowing visuals. You should also keep in mind that this environment was created by a single person.
With these out of the way, we can definitely say that this level looks like an “Alien” environment. Dalton was able to capture the atmosphere of the movie, so kudos to him. Furthermore, this environment comes really close to what Creative Assembly achieved with Alien Isolation.

This mod introduces a “Toss a coin to your Witcher” cut-scene in The Witcher
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-mod-introduces-a-toss-a-coin-to-your-witcher-cut-scene-in-the-witcher/
Modder ‘hub997’ has released a pretty cool mod for the first The Witcher game. As its title suggests, this mod introduces a “Toss a coin to your Witcher” cut-scene in the game. The mod basically exchanges two cutscenes in The New Narakort and Murky Waters.
The modder has modeled on cut-scenes from the Rise of the White Wolf Enhanced Edition modification. However, and since they were a bit stiff, he added some life especially to the NPCs standing in the crowd. Furthermore, the modder synchronized Dandelion’s movements on the lute with the actual song.
>> You can get this mod from Nexus Mods.

God game The Universim enters beta with fancy new planets
https://www.pcgamer.com/god-game-the-universim-enters-beta-with-fancy-new-planets/
Crytivo has announced that god game The Universim is entering Beta alongside an update improving the scale of the game’s planets. The Universim is a hugely ambitious crowdfunded god game that seeks to create a civilization-building experience from the earliest days of neolithic life to a planets-spanning galactic civilization. The next big update for the game will take it into official beta status, and improves several aspects of the game—but focuses primarily on updating the parts of it that generate new worlds. Planets are now larger, filled with more things, and have fancier mountains. They also generate faster to boot.

You can play Toss A Coin To Your Witcher in Beat Saber now
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-play-toss-a-coin-to-your-witcher-in-beat-saber-now/
If you, like many nerds, have the song Toss A Coin To Your Witcher from Netflix’s Witcher TV series stuck in your head, here’s a way to get it stuck even deeper by associating it with muscle movements: It’s now in Beat Saber. And it's a natural fit, too, because just like Geralt, in Beat Saber you also have two swords and are irritated by Jaskier’s singing.

And that's all for 2019. I wish you all a great 2020. See you in the 2nd!

Very surprised about Yooka Laylee on Epic, but also quite happy!

The Universim is already now a pretty great Godgame, although you can see that it's still unfinished on several spots, especially in the research tree. Been playing since the early pre-alpha. Just hope they can solve that pesky stutter problem after the midgame, really kills the endgame so far.

This year I am probably finally doing my new build with a 3600. Not quite sure when.

I've read some reports saying that memory prices will go up again this year. Not too sure if it will end happening or not but, regardless of when you decide to build it, if you find good deals on RAM or SSD/NVMe drives, you should probably go for it.

There's always time to get the rest of the components later and, even if the GDDR6 modules go up in price too, current cards will still go down in price with the launch of newer models.

I will also most likely build a new PC this year.

However, since this will happen in 2H of 2020 (probably even fall), it might be a 4600 or a 3700X if the launch of the 4xxx drops the price of the predecessor down enough.

Btw, where do you buy your PC hardware? Mindfactory, Alternate, some other site or store?

I fear that the next gen production will drive prices up so I want to buy my build in the first half.

I buy pretty much all my PC parts on Mindfactory. Had no negative experiences with them so far. Prices are very competetive, delivery is quick and everything worked on the first try.

Any idea how their delivery and aftermarket service is outside of Germany? I ordered at Alternate in the past and was pretty happy with them, but they are more expensive than Mindfactory and don't have my favorite GPUs anymore (no more Powercolor in their portfolio, which means some of the best AMD GPUs are missing), so I was thinking about changing the company, but I'm not sure if there ain't any hiccups for delivery to Luxembourg.

I have to wait until next year to be able to afford my PC the way I intend it too, including new 27'' 1440p Freesync Monitor, new mouse and possibly a new keyboard.
