High-end gpus can't handle even Rocket League at 4k? What is the point of them then?

Rocket League is a game you want massive FPS numbers on 144fps+ and even more if your really into it competitively going for 200+.

My 1080 can't at 144fps but the 2080ti should be able to.

The team behind one of the most promising Nintendo Switch emulators, yuzu, has released a new update that allows the emulator to play Super Mario Maker 2. Yeap, you read that right; the latest Mario game can boot, goes in-game and is mostly playable on yuzu.
As the team noted, it has been hard at work getting some important services and functions implemented in yuzu. Thanks to these new services and functions, Super Mario Maker 2 can now boot and is playable.

The Witcher 3 might not have spawned the sort of mod community that Skyrim enjoys, but five years (!) on, people are still are still working away on it. One of the newest additions spruces up Geralt's magnificent mane. After all, his hair is one of the game's most important characters.
"It bothered me how bad the LOD for some of the Hairworks hairstyles was," says modder BlurredNotions. "So I increased it for all of them."
Along with making the monster slayer's hair and beard more detailed, BlurredNotions also tweaked the physics values, making the hair more responsive at framerates higher than 60. The physics tweak is an optional file, and you can download the LOD increase on its own.

JRPG and Final Fantasy 7 fans, here is something for you today. While the highly anticipated remake of Final Fantasy VII has not been officially announced yet for the PC, modder ‘MicroKnightmare’ released a brand new mod for Edge of Eternity that lets you play as Tifa Lockhart.
Tifa’s model is from Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (for which Tifa was made available recently) in her Final Fantasy 7 Remake costume. Ironically, and since Edge of Eternity is a new JRPG, this character swap mod feels actually great.

Last Oasis developer Donkey Crew hosted an AMA for its peculiar survival MMO this week, giving us a better idea of what life is like on a world where the scorching sun leaves only a small strip of it habitable. Well, looks like the launch of Nvidia's SUPER cards has started the competition: AMD is lowering the prices of the upcoming 5700 cards:

That's a $50 drop for the regular and 50th anniversary 5700XT cards and $30 for the 5700.

Yeah. Saw that elsewhere, could mean that Navi isn't all that it's cracked up to be? I guess we will find out in the next 24 hours or so as I think that is when the US Embargo gets lifted.

Well Nvidia did things a little differently than I anticipated by preemptively 'dropping' their prices while phasing out the OG 2000 series, which covers a couple angles at once which was smart, but AMD did as I figured and dropped their prices almost immediately afterwards. With the OG 2000 series being replaced by the Super cards, I really don't see any more price drops coming until the holidays at the earliest, especially based on the preemptively 'dropped' Super prices already, so this actually should work out even better for the Radeon 5700 series I would think.

Now AMD has to slowly start filling the Navi line up with competitive models at each performance level and build hype over the next year.

nVidia isn't phasing out all of it's older Turing cards. - nVidia has just moved the performance line up a fairly heft notch in it's product stack.

End of the day... Navi should slot in under Vega 7 anyway which will remain as AMD's flagship part... We might even get another Vega part with the full compliment of CU's too, but unlikely.

I was hearing that some of the 2000 series were being phased out, other than the higher models like the 2080 ti. I could see them keeping the 2060, but with the performance of the Super models almost all moving up a model in the stack, I don't really see the point in keeping the 2070 or 2080, especially if a Super 2080 is on it's way. The holiday would be the perfect time for that card, especially if AMD drops something competitive against the 2080.

Aren't Navi 10,12, and 20/21 confirmed basically? AMD said Vega and GCN would remain for compute but that RDNA was for gaming, and they've also been talking about having more models for sale and stretching out launches for their product lines to keep people constantly focused on their brands and what's new. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5600 model between now and the holidays, and a 5800 model for the holidays. Save the 5900 model for the new year sometime?
