...Just asking. Most people don't call Gears of War and Halo an action adventure game. I don't call Killzone, Call of Duty, Resistance, Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, SOCOM, etc. action adventure games. I call them FPS/TPS games.

Subgenres of Action-Adventure games:

Subgenres

Although action-adventure games are diverse and difficult to classify, there are some distinct sub-genres. Popular sub-genres include:

That pretty much confirms what everyone has been telling you.

"make use of first-person shooter gameplay, forgoing constant action in favor of important adventure game elements such as environmental problem-solving and a complex plot."

Basically an FPS focuses on constant action while a FPA focuses more on the story/problem solving.

It's a subgenre of Action-Adventure. Some focus on stories more others are more action oriented.

People say shooters like, Halo is like Contra. Press start and play.

Holy crap...does this really need to be this difficult? Xbox has been known as the better console for shooters. SHOOTERS. Stop with the hair splitting.

Remember that nothing is perfect.

Of course. It's nice to see them making improvements. In the DualShock 3 I don't like the sllipering analogs and the R2 and L2 buttons. In DS4 they improved the analogs and put triggers on the controller. About X360 one, I don't like the D-pad and the triggers are to stiff. RB and LB are a little unconfortable to. These things looks improved on the X1 controller.

If I had to choose between X360 controller or DS3, in my personal opinion, it would be DS3. Both have flaws, but the 360 D-pad is a much serious one than the R2/L2 or analogs on DS3, since it impacts a lot fighting games. About the DS4 and X1's controller, I will have to wait the chance to have both to have an opinion (have, not only try. I've only discovered the flaws on DS3 after buying a PS3 and the flaws on X360 controller after buying two for my PC. Before that, I've used both but didn't noted the problems).

LOL

I really haven't fully followed what you guys are arguing about to be honest, but I will say this. People can argue anything with conviction, even that the sky is green or that the world is flat. We just need to learn to deal with the fact that you can't control others thoughts. Period.

I'm sorry but KZ3 was a great game. 84 metacritic with a fairly close user review averaging at 7.9. So the users of the game and critics were fairly close in its review. I have a lot of fun on the multiplayer, the game supports clan battles. Compare that too Halo 4 (halo a game with a fanatic following) got an 87 metacritic, but a distinctly lower user score of 6.9

http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/killzone-3

Furthermore, KZ3 beat out Crysis 2 for best looking FPS on console
http://www.lensoftruth.com/head2head-killzone-3-vs-crysis-2-analysis/

Though to be fair I think I enjoyed Crysis 2 way more than KZ3 multiplayer... Crysis 3 less so

Comparing the screen shots and reviews on Lensoftruth.com I'm not sure if Halo 4 even looks better than KZ3, but I think its fairly close. KZ3 has a bit more grittiness, and Halo 4 has some flair to the graphics that make it look beautiful, but even still I think KZ3 might have the upper hand in graphics over Halo 4 (though that might just be my preference on art style)

Lens Of truth????????

Digital Foundry say different.

Crysis 2 definately looks better than Killzone 3 technically.

Technically Halo 4 is better than both Killzone 3 and Crysis 2. Only Crysis 3 Matches Halo 4 for FPS visuals
