Given that Platinum had 1GB of RAM at their disposal compared to less than 500MB on PS3/360, I'd say these scenes demonstrate quite a bit more than the 7th gen consoles can do.

X and Bayonetta 2, no.
X's massive detailed environments are almost certainly too much for PS360's mere 512MB of RAM, same goes for the detailed cityscapes in the background of the frantic action of the Bayoneta 2 E3 demo.

MK8 could probably be done on PS3/360 though.

Those games didn't look that great.

Speak for yourself. To me, this is gorgeous:

But the thread wasn't about how good they looked, it was about whether they could run on a PS3 or 360.

I meant they don't look beyond PS360 capabilities.

None of those have as much long-distance detail as the cityscape in Bayonetta 2 during the final fight.

It's simple mathematics: 1GB > less than 500MB.

I think saying "yes" or "no" solely on the basis of trailers/demo footage is highly dubious. Pre-release footage can vary WILDLY from the finished product, in both the negative and positive direction.

In short, just wait. Debating it at this point is a waste of time.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Yes, if they seriously gimped those version of those games. For example cut the frame rate in half, set the resolution to sub-HD...yes PS360 does sub-HD (Witcher 2, BioShock, Fracture, Battlefield 3, CoD:BO, and Crysis 2 etc are all sub-HD on PS360), and textures and effects be DirectX 9 equivalent or lower!!!

Nice...I prefer Full 1080P @ 60 FPS though:

Of course they could be ported to run on almost any system ever made. I believe what the OP meant was can they run on the PS360 with the same framerate, resolution, textures, etc. To which the answer is no.

Maybe. Probably. Who cares?

Yes, a bit downgraded but most people wouldn't even notice.

Let's be honest here, Metal Gear Solid V looks ten times nicer than any game shown for any console, next-gen or otherwise, and was supposedly running on current-gen tech.

Seriously, apparently that game could run as-is on PS3. And it shits all over everything we've seen on Wii U... and PS4... and Xbone... and PC.

So basically, everyone needs to step their game up and get on Kojima's level.
