Forums - Microsoft Discussion - microsoft to have better launch even though higher price

so hard to tell honestly xD

During the holidays they will both be out of stock but i do expect MS now to outsell sony during the first 3-4 months, after that Sony will be back on top until the next holidays kinda like what happens now with the 360,ps3.
Its little early to call Gamescom and TGS will be important battlegrounds key to the initial launch of both sistems.

I think numbers will be more even now... but no, not at launch. Mainly because of supply constraints. If anything, XB1 pre-orders are going to sell even faster now with todays news. Sony will win year one.

It's just that simple.

I know titanfall isn't at launch. But it is a good reason to get xbox one instead of ps4 at launch for those fps fans out there. Its actually the most wanted fps out there at the moment even though it didn't have the best visuals.

Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will both outsell Titanfall. Titanfall, a game releasing in 2014, will have no impact at all on Xbox One sales in 2013.

I wouldn't be so hasty about it

Maybe if X1 was $299 and PS4 being $399

X1 would even get outsold if it was $399 with PS4 being $399.

X1 damn sure wont be doing much to Sony at $499

It's a good thing that they dropped that wack drm sh!t though. They would have been DESTROYED come this holiday. Every employee at Sony would have been sentenced to life in prison for the slaughter of the Xbox One this holiday season

They might do ok though

I expect both console to sell out so the console with more supply would sell more. But in general I think the OP has a point, Titanfall will be a system seller.

bizarre-galaxy.de - My Browsergame, but sadly only in german :(

You can play as an octopus, though!

If they can somehow lower the price to $349 then they could win, otherwise I don't see them winning.

499 bucks is still a lot of money to be asking for in a recession.

Even $399 sounds too much imo.

as long as x1 remains at $499 to ps4's $399 i don't think they can win the launch.

Not sure, at the end of the day it's still an fps which is a dime in the dozen. Don't get me wrong though, it looks really good. It would have to compete with cod ghost and bf which are huge established franchises. To say titanfall, an unproven franchise as a system sell is a bit iffy before it even comes out. Its even on mutiple platforms. Not everyone who plays titanfall will get a one.
