Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft to Pull Complete Reversal on Xbox One DRM Policies..

Lol, I just thought of something. Cliffy B must feel like an idiot, now. Well, more so than usual, anyway.

Good for them, but i'm no longer interested. The damage is already done.

You were never interested.

I'm sorry but i just can't trust them. Back when DRM was just mere rumours, i didn't wanted it to ever happen and yet they had to say something that should of never been considered. Good for them that we through our constant uproar stopped it from happening. I just hope no company ever cocks up like that again.

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Xbox can never win all I see now is "If they can take it out they can put it back in!!!" and "too little too late". I have a feeling most of these people were never interested to begin with.

This happened with PlayStation

When Sony said PS4 had no restrictions, people were still claiming that PS4 had those restrictions and that Sony was lieing lol

It is a little worrying that the DRM is obviously built into the system, so much so that the Xbox One requires a FW update to actually override the DRM.  I guess one could say that all MS has to do is override the FW update to have all their DRM policies back in place.  I doubt they would do that, though, as that would be an even bigger step towards suicide.

Yes, they changed! I was totally on the fence about the Xbone and leaning towards the "no buy" category (and there's no way I'm getting a ps4), but now it looks like I will be picking one up.

This is a really big win for consumers for sure. :)

Yes, definitely a win. All the outrage and low pre-order numbers (I'm assuming) must have had an effect on MS.

My girlfriend will be happy as well as she's been looking forward to Forza 5.

Im glad to see it will be region free as well. That's better than the 360 as well!

Microsoft have said their policies can change at any time, and they can't confirm this is permanent
