Will the XBOX One DRM lead to more exclusive titles and superior 3rd party support for Microsoft?

We all talk about the benefits to 3rd parties and the cost to consumers for the XBOX One's DRM, but if not superior 3rd party support what's in it for Microsoft? They will lose sales to anyone who does not have high speed internet right off the bat.  Also, there is negative publicity and loss of support among those who opose their policy on principal (though I think this is a smaller crowd than we may think).

So far there's a lot of multiplats so no.

Jack mentioned Madden, Fifa, and COD coming to PS4 didn't he? Or maybe it was BF instead of Fifa. Point is, Acitvision and EA are supporting the platform and EAs CEO kept saying PS4 and Xbox One earlier so I think they'll be fine. EA doesn't want to cut off all those potential customers especially after the conference Sony just had.

The problem with theory is that we would have to agree to the idea that EA, Activision and Ubi are willing to lose half the sales and grip for their biggest IP's. Not gonna happen when half the sells come from PS gamers.

You go with the console that sells better.

Right now that $100 more expensive price tag and anti-used stance is not helping MS at all.
The only way MS can come back is by taking a hit and going $399 to match Sony and/or have some insanely aggressive marketing (which is possible).

Only good news I've seen is Amazon pre-orders will probably be sold out in the next few days (for the XB1)

It's just that simple.

I'm not asking if 3rd party publishers will drop PS4 altogether. Just if they will show favoritism to XBOX One, such as occasional exclusives, exclusive launch windows, etc.

Also, doesn't answer my question about what Microsoft gains. They don't seem to be collecting used games fees, and they are not restricting sales of their own titles. So whats in in for Microsoft?

With everything PS4 has going, it may not be a stretch to say that PS4 will gain a larger install base around launch, especially due to the much lower price point.

From a publisher standpoint, it would be silly to not develop for the platform with the larger install base just because you want a little bit of money from used game sales, which may alienate consumers from you anyway. So no, I think PS4 is going to be just fine in terms of 3rd party support. The publishers depend on the platform makers, not the other way round.

M$ really need to rethink their strategy and change things up before the Xbone launches.

It depends on how the generation plays out, if MS can get enough marketshare to make it appealing to 3rd parties to make it exclusive then yes.

It also depends on how multiplat games sell on the consoles as well, seeing as how we are marching into uncharted territory this gen, who knows.
