With everything PS4 has going, it may not be a stretch to say that PS4 will gain a larger install base around launch, especially due to the much lower price point.
From a publisher standpoint, it would be silly to not develop for the platform with the larger install base just because you want a little bit of money from used game sales, which may alienate consumers from you anyway. So no, I think PS4 is going to be just fine in terms of 3rd party support. The publishers depend on the platform makers, not the other way round.
M$ really need to rethink their strategy and change things up before the Xbone launches.
