BS and you know it. You know who are the people who got most upset about COD being transformed into a copy-paste extravaganza ? It is the people who used to like it. I liked COD 4 games ago. Scraping the bottom of the barel to make a "new" game is not my definition of gaming.

GT6 is coming this year. You can race around in circles. An experience we've never had before.

I dunno, go ask all 20+ million consumers and the people that enjoyed Kinect with them.

I know some people that really love the dance games on Kinect.

I personally had a blast playing Kinect Sports, Gun Stringer, and Fable: The Journey.

 

Here's a thought. Quit being so damn critical about what other people enjoy. Just worry about the games you enjoy.

There are two things:

1. A large number of users are ill informed or dont care
2. Companies with poor products that don't work that great can sell loads if marketed right to 1 (Kinect prime example).

I wont be buying regardless of what games they get, just because of the online requirements part. But just reading Eurogamer today, a few people are saying how they will cave in from multiple issues if PGR is released. And there lies the problem, that many people cannot keep with their convictions. They shout, they argue they state how disgusted they are, then they go do it anyway.

I guess MS have looked at Simcity/Diablo and saw that though people are complaining, that the games still sold.... so just give them the bad news, give them some good news and all will be well. And considering how Simcity/Diablo sold, I pretty much agree with them.

Not if MS gets to have their say and basically the persuit of not profit in general but COD and Halo profit is what ends up driving the industry. Forget about new ideas and innovations.

Safe, copy-paste titles will be my only options. Check and mate.

I'm with the OP on the point that MS has set their expectations low. They don't need over-impress, they just need to backtrack on a few of their policies, or explain them/give discounts for them and a promise of a better experience all together with their online cloud service. If they can convince the EA fans/CoD fans/NFL fans/Fantasy league fans MS is the next best place to get their fix, I'm very positive that it will outsell the PS4. When the dust settles, it will depend heavily on where your friends game online & get their sports updates.

Fantasy Leagues are big, and I think it can move a lot of individuals to jump into MS ship. I foresee that NFL contract paying off for MS in the future, and if MS plays it right, they might just keep the edge on CoD fans. I don't know how well Fifa exclusive deals will be affected in Europe, but I wouldn't put it past MS on knowing a way to get around a few EU policies.

I'm not going to ever cry for Microsoft, ever since the begining, they stole ideas for their OS, bought out competition or pushed them out of the market. They have resorted to many underhanded tactics to become a very profitable corporation. I'm not going to hate on them, I think consumers are responsible for how big companies get. If people wish to embrance the new policies, I think they deserve whatever it is they get. Whether that is fun & joy or violation of privacy & game licence rentals.

Just look at the car market. Pay attention to the comercials and you'll see how leasing is the new normal. The dealerships didn't make it that way, it was consumers who accepted it and now prefer to pay less monthly to ultimatly pay twice for it if they wish to own it.
