Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Everyone else disappointed by the xbox one reveal?

All the "pay for play" they seem to be putting into this new console will not deter anyone from getting it. Believe it! They know what they have in XBOX fans and gamers in general. We'll always complain about something while partaking in it. Watch how next gen triples down on FPSs and how muted the innovation is going to be. And we'll eat it up like we always do.

The OS features look sweet, I'm in love with the new controller, kinda like the new Kinect, dislike the name, and loathe the new console design. Seriously, WTF M$!? How do you go from the incredibly sexy 360 Slim to this!

That said I do like the idea of Xbox Live original programming. If there's enough of it, that alone would make the subscription fee worthwhile--assuming that there isn't ANOTHER fee attached to it. Live TV isn't much of a plus, but it is nice being able to do everything on one system. I couldn't care less about the NFL stuff, though. :(

Now, as far as games go, this conference was a nightmare. Despite that, I don't feel that there's much to worry about, because it's pretty much guaranteed to have excellent 3rd party support, and this was only the first piece of a two-part reveal. The main deal breaker is the fact that it essentially blocks used games and sharing, but game trading may soften that blow just a bit, so I'll postpone my rage filled disappointments until after E3.

How does the cable thing work? Like, is it a cable box itself? Or do you still need to pay Comcast or something..THEN pay Microsoft to use the cable you already pay Comcast for?

Basically if all I had was a TV, Internet connection, and an Xbox One, could I watch TV on it?

Ethomaz....you and I might end up having a very similar opinion on games......no.....no, that just can't be!

Wait, no, it won't be. I like to own ALL racing games, where you stick with your favorite. Heck, I just bought Sega GT for my Dreamcast so I could have Sony's compeditor to Gran Turismo.

Well I know they reveal the Forza 5 for launch title but they showed nothing about the title... it like just sai "we will release Forza 5 at One launch"... the Remedy new game is interesting but nothing showed too... they only wated time with the new CoD that everybody already saw it before.

What more? I watched the video minutes ago and I can't remember other game cited... lol the sports games... I almost forgot... well they are released every year for every plataform.

That is my point... I'm happy that you agreed with me... at least one time

I 100% agree, I mean I still know nothing about FM5. Will the race layout be based on stock cars like FM3 or on heavily modified/equalized cars like FM4 (which ruins the game IMO)? How much better will the game look? What makes this entry special?

Same goes for Quantum Break, all they showed was a boat hitting a bridge, and in real life I'm not sure if the boat would go through a bridge like that so unaffected.

They did announced 15 games within the 1st year, but you know what? That first year includes fall 2013 and fall 2014, 15 games isn't that much. However I am curious at what they reveal at E3, I hear Killer Instinct might be a new exclusive, and I really really hope they don't sqrew that up like they did Banjo and Perfect Dark.

PS4 might not WOW me (not yet at least), but at least Sony is heavily supporting the PS3 this year. If anything, that tells us that we can trust that the PS4 will have a consistant supply of great games, so another reason to look forward to PS4. (They don't need to tell us that they'll make a lot of games in a specific year, we assume it).

LOL, when I get a PS3 to replace my broken one, I plan to humiliate ethomaz in GT, and then....well maybe I'll take his spot on Playstation Nation as the Racer Boy, but I don't really want to. I want to be THE racer boy, not just on Playstation Nation.

lol I need to begin my training soon...

PS. I'm not the best racer in the PlayStation Nation

Who's better?

P.S. Do you have a particular favorite track, or lap time that you're proud of? I want to know so I have something to compare to. In FM4, I believe I scored a 1:44 lap time on the Top Gear Track with the Kia Cee'd (I'm within the top 10,000 globally). Selnor beat me, but with practice, I do think I can get a 1:43, which is better then the F1 guys on the real track.

Oh yes practice my friend, I'll be practicing on Forza while I wait for a GT6 Bundle, and a Black Friday sale...

LOL so you are telling us you guys didn't like the show cause it was a little to Sony like.... no actual news just powder in videos... I love tech and game forums.... when they do their usual thing its bad.... when they do the competition style it is still bad LOLING LOL

well anyway I didn't expect much on gaming today since it was a reveal of the box and what it does and E3 is around the corner....
that's what we got... the only thing I wish I had seen was more in context use... but we'll have plenty by the end of june...

anyway I'll get the one no matter what, it's not like sony is gonna be able to do anything to convince me... their handful exclusive has never cut it for me before and the rest of the services to me is inferior... I actually think PS is a pretty good device but the biggest downfall of PS is SONY....

because as much as everybody is bitching in todays world it ain't about what they can do in gaming they'll both be pretty much on par on that side.... but I doubt SONY can ever strike the deals and do the acquisition MS can and will do....

and a check every 24H come on if you comment here you probably have a connection so what's the issue beside bitching just to bitch??? by the end of the decade even your fridge will have to be always online... and fees on used games I'm pretty sure that will be enforce by game studio not by MS....

well I'm satisfied with what I have seen nothing surprising nothing disappointing... I just would like the ISPs and cable company to follow, to have production house unify the world market.... the zoning of DVDs for instance and the time delay between movie and TV show release in different parts of the world in the 21st century is becoming a serious pain in the ass.... get rid of it already, I'll stop the very few illegal DL I do tomorrow.... and I know a shit load of people would also....

The Xbox One reveal was a major disappointment. They made the PS4 reveal look good and the Wii U reveal look genius.

Nintendo Network ID: DaRevren

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

No backwards compatability
Underpowered compared to PS4
No touch screen like Wii U
Kinect 2 which looks about as crap as Kinect 1
The dumbest name for a console ever
Needing to be only daily to make the thing work
Paid subscriptions for all of the online services
A 500GB hard drive when you expect people to install HD games is too small
A lack of exciting actual gameplay shown despite delaying the reveal by a month

What a stinking pile of turd!!!!! Its Nintendo vs Sony this generation for mine!

(lots of things)

tl;dr (no one did, probably)

OT - yeah. Another Zune incoming, most likely. Better MS fans brace themselves because a hard trip is coming their way.

@haxxiy lol sure, yet zune HD discontinued or not is still probably one of the best MP3 stand alone out there.... but there is about as much chance for XB1 to go zune like than SONY has to go bankrupt before 2015, it is an eventuality but anybody betting more than a dime on it is a fool or a super anti MS tool...

the dislikes of the majority of the people on that forum and most specialized one out there is about as relevant to the market than geeks are to the smartphone one about 5% maybe a little bit more since we are talking about gaming but even then this is the 21st century everybody games today..... not just freaks roaming specialized website like us...

when I saw the comment of the guy above you I just lolled, it pretty much sums up why a lot of the old breed of gamers is a dyeing one.... they live completely disconnected with the reality and the trend of the market.... reminds me the old geeks of the late 80's 90's advocating Linux like the turning stone of the OS world.... I'm still waiting (and I use Linux on several of my rigs)

but keep on dreaming..... I have waited for the past 5 years to have a sony fan to prove me wrong on my forecast about MS vs SONY and they might finally win at less than a semester from next gen launch.... YAY clap clap clap I have to admire the dedication.... but bottom line commercially XB360 will still be a greater commercial success than PS3 is for long while... hey but trust your guts guys, it's what makes that website and others running :P
