I'm sure they won't have Smash Bros playable at these demo stations, but I would've still voted for Super Mario Universe regardless. It took all I had not to vote for W101 or Wind Waker, though, as I'm ecstatic for them as well.

And I agree with those who say this Best Buy partnership is a very good idea and that they should make the demos available for WiiU owners.

Hasn't SSB4 been in development for over a year now? Plus they have Namco Bandai helping them out which may have sped things a long. I'm sure a smallish demo (4-8 characters, 1-3 stages) could be put together.

That`s how you do marketing.
Gamers online always wished there were there to play the games and now they can!

There wasn`t any announcement concerning the european market. Still, i hope it happens. They could even do a road show with these demos, since they never did one in the first place for Wii U.

Exactly! It'll be a great way to attract new gamers, especially if they show off multiplayer games like Smash n Kart. Nearby customers might become interested in what all the commotions about (you know theirs gonna be bunch of rowdy teenagers surrounding the demos hehe), want to try the games out themselves, like em, then go on to tell all their friends about it, perhaps inviting them for another round at the demos!

So nothing was said for Europe? Hmm perhaps it's cause the Wii U is selling worse in the U.S. or something. Or maybe Europe doesn't have Best Buy. Yeah I have no idea. xP  I guess the least we can do is talk about our hands on experiences in depth. I know I sure will!

Will be a great way to spread the word.
If we get reports that BB will become stacked, then it`s a win for Wii U! :D

I was told that it had but no longer has them.
Not that it can`t associated with other retailers or take actions in their own hands and do some events across european countries. I just want them to do something because they really are selling the worst in Europe.

Can you imagine demos with Mario, Mario Kart, Watch Dogs or AC 4 and Call of Duty side by side? Know what message that would send to gamers? Yeaaaahh...

Heh, I would not be surprised to see lines forming up in front of the demos. It's unfortunate though that Nintendo can't give Europe similar treatment. Maybe they just didn't have enough time to localise the demos? We can only speculate at this point.

The problem is that only 100 best buy locations.

I'm not driving to play a demo....

During the last WiiU-focused Nintendo Direct they made a point of saying that 3D Mario and Mario Kart would have playable demos at E3 while Smash Bros would only be shown, implying a teaser trailer or at the very least screenshots.

Since this also implies that Mario Kart could very well launch this holiday, I have little doubt that they won't release MK and Smash during the same holiday.

Maybe they'll surprise us and reveal that Smash is indeed further along than they've let on, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Poor Wonderful 101. Getting no love. =[
Would be hilarious if it turns out to be the only game demo'ed! :L

@Otakumegane:
Well over one hundred, which is a pretty decent amount especially if they're well spread out. Playing demos isn't the only thing that can be done at best buy. You could plan so that your next trip to Best Buy is during E3 week, and if you're wanting an item that can also be bought at Best Buy, just get it there during E3 week instead. Also, I'd say it'd be worth the drive if you've got friends with ya, but I guess that'll vary for each person. Plus we don't yet know how far we'd all have to drive, if at all.

@archbrix:
Ah, forgot about that. Well then I'ma be hopeing for that surprise. :)

lucky Americans! I want videos! Images! I want you steal me one Wii U too!

You can bet your signature that Youtube will have hundreds of videos on each demo. As for stealing a Wii U, you can just do that yourself. :P

but it would not be the same :(

Click HERE and be happy

^Yeah, but it's better than nothing!

I live just 10 minutes away from a Best Buy. Hopefully they do it there.

...on a side note, seeing this much positivity in a Nintendo thread is kind of creepy. XD

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

Good. The demo kiosks at Gamestop are awful. 12 games, only 1 playable demo. Hopefully this is worth playing around with.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
