Sakurai is still heading Smash, and he has said before that a character had to originate as a video game character to be included.... so yeah.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

"Interesting"? Hardly. These are some of the safest rumors I've ever seen.

• 3 Directs around E3. Easy prediction. May 30 seems likely enough.
• I don't see why a new 3D Mario WOULDN'T be the biggest yet, and I fully expect to see something unique.
• First-person and futuristic? Man, it's like they wanted to be vague enough so that either Metroid or Star Fox (or even a new IP) could be right.
• Goku in Smash Bros "hasn't been decided yet" because it hasn't been brought up yet because it's not happening.

This is a full and new gen so they could work on a new ip after they release Metroid Prime 4.. If they do

Metroid Prime is my number one game of all time, actually. I just feel its better for both Metroid and Retro Studios, long-term, if they part ways.

Agreed. The Prime games were great, but we've already seen Retro's take on Metroid, I want to see them tackle something new.

I'd love Goku is Smash, but it's just not going to happen. He's not a video game character... it's really that simple.

Didn't stop Nintendo from making/publishing Perfect Dark or Geist.

A new 3D Mario would be fantastic, hopefully it would have plenty of fresh constructive ideas. Nintendo defo needs to get some top quality games out soon before Sony and Microsoft release their next gen consoles otherwise they could slip behind.
