If he bothered replying he could correct the assumption I made.
I don't think if they focused on the Vita's version sales would drastically increase. it didn't stop the vita version of dragon quest heroes selling very well compared to the ps4 version. |
Hey, a man's got to sleep.
Anyways, what I meant by "huge" is that I thought an eventual Toukiden 2 release could maybe sell in the range of 350k-400k on Vita. Which for a Vita game would be huge. Considering the first one did over 400k in Japan alone across the Vita and PSP I don't think that would have been too far of a stretch.
Also it's not just the fact that they are only marketing the game as a PS4 game (which they clearly are). It's that they are literally taking a series that had a good reputation in Japan as a portable, co-op arena hunting game and morphing it into and open world console game. I can't really speak to Toukiden 2's current reception in Japan but I'd imagine it's a change that nobody wanted.
Lastly, Dragon Quest Heroes is a bad example. Musou games have been more of a console genre compared to a portable one. Not to mention the Vita version of that game wasn't a turd like the Vita version of Toukiden 2 seems to be. If anything it proves our point that a more polished Vita version WOULD help increase sales.
