Go back and read Vena's post that you were replying to again.  Not once does he say the game should be Vita-exclusive, only that Vita should've been more of a focus since that's where the market is.  You're the one projecting Vita-only onto what he was saying.

In addition, I don't know why you're throwing figures like 500k and words like "amazing" around, lol.  The post you're replying to didn't say any of that.  The only thing I can see to go on was Blowoverking saying he thought the game would be "huge" after the first game was successful, but since the first game managed to sell 242k on Vita, I don't know why you're suggesting they'd more than double their sales with the sequel.

Toukiden 2 selling 300k on Vita for example, while not huge in comparative terms to the biggest IP's in Japan, would be a huge game forthe console (only 4 games have officially sold more than that amount by my count), which I assume is what he's referring to.

If he bothered replying he could correct the assumption I made.

I don't think if they focused on the Vita's version sales would drastically increase.  it didn't stop the vita version of dragon quest heroes selling very well compared to the ps4 version.

Hey, a man's got to sleep.

Anyways, what I meant by "huge" is that I thought an eventual Toukiden 2 release could maybe sell in the range of 350k-400k on Vita. Which for a Vita game would be huge. Considering the first one did over 400k in Japan alone across the Vita and PSP I don't think that would have been too far of a stretch.

Also it's not just the fact that they are only marketing the game as a PS4 game (which they clearly are). It's that they are literally taking a series that had a good reputation in Japan as a portable, co-op arena hunting game and morphing it into and open world console game. I can't really speak to Toukiden 2's current reception in Japan but I'd imagine it's a change that nobody wanted.

Lastly, Dragon Quest Heroes is a bad example. Musou games have been more of a console genre compared to a portable one. Not to mention the Vita version of that game wasn't a turd like the Vita version of Toukiden 2 seems to be. If anything it proves our point that a more polished Vita version WOULD help increase sales.

Whats every1 thinkkng for P5 fw in sales? Pre orders are looking good. I kno some were worried about being too close to ffxv but doesnt look like that matters (well not for legs lol)

If it keeps going like this and has a push at the end (as it should have? well you never know) my prediction is somwhere between 300-400k FW sales.

My heart aches at the FFXV numbers. Hopefully there will be a huge bump soon but around 1 Million LTD in Japan was always looking like the likely scenario for it.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Persona 5 should have a better ratio than Persona 4. I am really surprised that we have comg points from back then. How back does the comg pre-order thing goes anyway?

Around 2004, I believe.

EDIT: checked, yup, 2004.

Wow, i was under the impression that it started around 2009-2010. Crazy...

I see it as good thing, might light the fire under there asses for treating fanbase sales as given. The last time they had a fire lit under their ass, they fixed the issues and now have one of most successful MMOs.

YSO predictions

01. [3DS] Puzzle & Dragons X: God Chapter / Dragon Chapter < 130k (average 115k)
02. [3DS] Yo-Kai Watch 3: Sushi / Tempura < 105k (average 95k)
03. [PSV] Toukiden 2 < 90k (average 80k)
00. [ALL] Toukiden 2 < 160k (average 150k)

For comparison:

01./00. [3DS] PazuDora Z: Puzzle & Dragons Z (GungHo Online Entertainment) {2013.12.12} - 543.630 / NEW <79,02%>
01./00. [3DS] Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (GungHo Online Entertainment) {2015.04.29} - 179.926 / NEW
01. [3DS] Puzzle & Dragons X: God Chapter / Dragon Chapter < 130k (average 115k)

Well and truly destroyed.

02./00. [PSV] + [PSP] Toukiden # (Koei Tecmo) {2013.06.27} - 188,810
02./00. [PSV] + [PSP] Toukiden: The Age of Demons Extreme # (Koei Tecmo) {2014.08.28} - 90,410
13./00. [PS4] Toukiden: Kiwami (Koei Tecmo) {2015.04.23} (¥7.344) - 6.103 / NEW
00. [ALL] Toukiden 2 < 160k (average 150k)

Actually not a complete disaster for Toukiden.  But also, not a good result either, since it's declining despite the presumably higher budget of open world + PS4.  Console version getting a decent ratio too (I assume PS3 version will be like 10k).

So the IP should live on after this, assuming YSO's prediction is correct at least.

Hard to say, but it seems that tales of and persona are the first jrpg's for the ps4 that could get high numbers... I would say that 400k fw are possible

They already have the fire lighted under their asses. XIII trilogy gave them huge mistrust in the fanbase.

I doubt they see sales for XV as a given. Though of course they want it to sell well.

I'm still hopeful COMG is mirepresenting its current pre-orders but 1m FW is definitely doubtful at this point. Though surely it can do a bit more than 1m LT :/
