I dont think it will, As long as SSB WiiU sells imo 1mil in japan, that be very good. Looking st the current situation. MK8 will do just over a million, so SSB behind it will be nice. We all kno especially in Japan SSB 3DS is going to do well.

WW i think SSB WiiU will do over 5mil, and that would be damn good. 3DS is going to sell more no matter wat because of 2 major reasons.

1. 3DS decent Installbase (which looks incredible compared to you kno wat console) vs WiiU terrible one!

2. SSB 3DS will require more copies obviously. Ex: i'll need 3 copies vs 1 wiiu in my household. Many will be like this especially in this huge Multiplayer game

Bonus: Japan is HH land. Im thinking this for both sales... WiiU: 800k-1mil  + 3DS:2.2mil-2.5mil. But 3DS version has a chance of 3mil imo

It doesn't really help if the game sells only to people who already own the system.

MK8 showed that the Wii U indeed can get a decent baseline, but what if a game comes out on 2 systems?

Its not exactly the same game, but i really wonder if people will buy a Wii U just for this game even though they already own a 3DS.

Me too, i've been saying this way before MK8 came out, Despite MK8>SSB Wiiu in sales lifetime, SSB imo is Nintendo's biggest System Seller and by far. Lots of people are waiting for SSBU that dont own a wiiu yet. Oh well!

For sales 5mil would be great as WiiU lifetime will be 15mil-20mil lifetime. If WiiU version sells under 3mil (or even a little over) then i'll say 3DS version hurted sales. No matter wat i think some will think it'll hurt sales because 3DS will be higher and by alot (i think 3DS version could do 8mil+) over wiiu sales. Which wont be true. We have many games tht prove other wise (NSMBU:NSMB2 + SM3DL:SM3DW + MK8:MK7)

It would be really smart if they make a promotion between the Wii U and 3DS version.
Something like "Buy Smash Bros. for 3DS and get Smash Bros. for Wii U for free."

That would probably move a lot of systems. Its probably not going to happen, but after the MK8 promotion i do have hope for something cool with Smash!

Smash for Free though is a huge lost on money despite selling systems. Maybe do the MK8 promotion but with newer games like DK+SM3DW for free. Do the same with 3DS. Get DK/Star Fox/etc free if you purchase SSB 3DS :)

Thats true, but 3D World and DKCTF do still sell quite a lot. I don't think they'll give them away for free.

Oh well! Maybe there is the amiibo bundle coming out! Maybe thats a system seller?
