The new 12GB model must be doing gangbusters in PAL territories.

This quarter though, PS3 was like up YOY unless PS2 suddenly sold a crazy amount.

Has Sony ever stated Why the 12GB isn't available in the US ?

It seems to me they don't like making money.

I am always wondering why this model is sold... It's even a worse option for gamers than the 4gb 360 model due to mandatory installs and patch-sizes with ps3. It won't take long until you have to buy an hdd for this.

It's definetely a bad deal when you consider that at some point you'll have to buy a hard drive.

But for people Who will buy the console only to play Fifa, Cod and watch movies, Its enough.

No one knows. Really kind of sucks that Sony reports numbers this way now.

IIRC they said PS3 numbers are down YoY so there is no other explanation for combined numbers being up in a quarter or year than PS2.

As NeoGAF is speculating, it could be a last call mass shipment of PS2 units to clear everything out. But again, thanks to Sony's lulz Vita-hiding method of reporting numbers, who knows.

PS3 is selling really good.

That was said when sony started combining them no before, also we have data from japan, the us and some countries in europe and in all of them the PS3 is doing the same or worse compared to last year so sony must be doing really good in asia and south america
