People are inherently evil, but religion coming from man or being influenced by man can corrupt other people.

True revelation is a miracle.

Religion teaches you to believe in something without any evidence whatsoever. This has very profound implications. If you can simply take things on faith, you are an irrational person. Irrational thoughts can be used to do any number of dangerous things. It is this very reason that there are crimes of passion, fanboys arguing absurdities, suicide bombers, etc.

Spirituality is thought to be controlled by the serotonin system.

You know nothing, dsgrue.

Relgion teaches you to have faith on something that gives you evidence, just not proof. What you describe is something else. That's called blind faith, and it's not what religion teaches, in general.

Lol, when someone doesn't like facts they generally do disagree. Unfortunately a fact is not diminished by your disagreement.

The majority of religious people would not even entertain the notion that their savior may not exist. It is such an impossibility to them (brainwash) that it might as well be fact. It isn't a fact, not even close. And there is no evidence for God, just a collection of non sequiturs religious apologetics attempt to use in an exercise of confirmation bias.

Are you the Devil or one of his minions? Seriously, cause you definitely seem to ALWAYS have a devilish (i.e. non-Godly thinking) agenda when you speak about religion. Come, let's discuss your often one-sided approach to religion.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

:) I like your smile. What do you think of converts who took the time to consider christianity after all their concerns were addressed? I hope you won't call that brainwash.

And now

It's a two way street, just like the Internet.
Does the internet corrupt people or do people corrupt the internet?

Religion is a great brainwashing tool to hide your ulterior motives behind. Corrupt people can use religion to corrupt further people.

I don't think people are not inherintly evil, they are inherintly greedy, selfish, lazy, are group animals and have a thirst for getting 'even' aka revenge. That can lead to evil behaviour. Those are all evolutionary traits.

Call it evil, call it evolutionary, call it corrupt, call it evolutionary. Essentially people are greedy, selfish, lazy, and other things that lead to causing other people to be greedy, selfish, lazy, etc. (which is essentially corruption).

As religion is a great brainwashing tool, so is non-religious ideology, even pseudo-science.

And yet gain, on the flipside, religion is a cleansing tool, as is non-religious ideology, even pseudo-science.

Lol!

It obviously goes both ways: People sometimes change their views so that they won't contradict their religion, and they sometimes interpret their religion in a way that won't go against their views. This is why we have no Christians (as far as I know) not believing that Jesus is God/God's son while we also have priests that are pro and anti gay marriage.

I have many times changed my view on my religion due to outside influence (even forums yes, actually you even haha!). But ultimately people who are level-headed will make their decision to believe what is true no matter what, no matter where it stands (in religion, or in secularism).

You can say what you said about weak-minded people, sure, but you can't generalize on all religious people I think that's horribly unfair, and there are weakminded people in secularist circles because Religion doesn't make you weakminded, weakmindedness makes you weakminded, so you'll find that everywhere.

Religion - like Soylent Green - is people.

People without a doubt. Whether it is intentional alteration to serve a pursuit or the blind acceptance of what someone tells one, it is the people to blame. For the most part religion calls for peace and understanding but people are easily manipulated and seldom think for themselves when placed into certain circumstances. Most people choose to be taught rather than to teach themselves and therefor are at the mercy of their teacher. If that teacher is corrupt, they will mislead. If that teacher if a fool or the mislead from previous corruption, they will mislead.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Power corrupts people. Religious authorities hold a lot of power so there's bound to be a few who use their power for their own personal gain.
