Yay! Another soul that's psyched for the game! Who needs Rol anyways?

~quote~

If every product I sold for Sony would have gotten me an Euro... I would have like 50...
Also, Fanboyism is only unhealthy if you are not aware of it... let's see, I know that I am a fanboy of Sony, I know that I am a DotA 2 fanboy, I am a Zelda fanboy... ... ... welp, that is it...

Anyway, in regards to buying a 3DS > it mostly depends on how well the Vita fares up in my hands. Because I do not tend to play Handheld games while being on the move, they often get forgotten after some time, because it is so much more convinient to play a console at home on a big screen, rather than a handheld with a microscopic screen. (And this ridiculous statement is coming from a person that only uses two 23" screens(and a shitty Samsung 21" Screen, that I normally not use, because it is eyecancerous in regards to colours)).

On the other hand, Zelda is the only system seller for me, so if it fares up well enough, I will be happy to play it (and buy a 3DS) :D

Anyway, i think we are far too off-topic here, since we actually should be talking about Rol's reaction, but well, since I am Austrian, I might count myself in his place.

/me is off to ride his Kangaroo into the Alps

Well, Rol hasn't showed up here to express his thoughts on the matter, so a little derailing doesn't hurt ;)

How is it like being a fanboy? I'm mostly just a fan myself, or could it be that I'm deluding myself? Maybe I AM a fan boy?! How would I know???! Rol most definetly is a fan boy though! .... Maybe... I think... Is he? I don't know... =/

Ah, it is mostly like being a fan, only that you are allowed to hate on the competition and even more on your fanboyism-target. Don't know if rol is a fanboy or just Austrian, these two things are hard to distinguish sometimes... (I mean, Austrian tend to hate on everything and it's mom)

Yeaaaah... Rol DOES seem to be pretty hateful... Hating on the puzzles in Zelda, most of the Mario games, and he makes a lot of "XXX flopped, we need to talk about this"-threads that's just filled with a deep hatred for the game in question...

Man, being a fanboys sounds awesome :D but does that mean you have to love everything your company does?

Oh, god no, you are allowed to hate them for the slightest change they made to a thing which earlier allowed you to argue in favour of your fanboyism, and well, change in general, because the current product they offer is the best ever made. (and so will be the product they offer after whatever changes they made)

Same overworld would be sad. Expanded is ok, but even then it is a bit boring knowing the overworld already.

The first reaction to this game that I've seen from Rol is suspicion that it'll be very puzzle-focused. Considering that all of the puzzles shown in the trailer actually took place in dungeons (so old-school), this is one of those rare times in which I will doubt Rol.

I think I've seen that reaction as well from him... And I gotta agree with him somewhat; Zelda has become very puzzle centric, while it used to be about action and adventure. But I think you have a point; it would seem as if the puzzles are contained to the dungeons and the over world has the enemies... (I'm thinking about the birds and the... blobs...)

I've never had a problem with puzzles since traditional adventure games are focused on puzzles and exploration, and by extentsion the purest form of action/adventure game should have a good mix of action, exploration, and puzzles. And in my opinion, the puzzles present in the Zelda series tend to be pretty good. Some parts of Skyward Sword made me think "this could be its own downloadable game".

Oh man! That sounds wonderful! Beinf a fanboy sounds pretty neat ^^ It's just all that hating that seems a bit hard... Isn't is hard walking around being mad and angry with everything all the time?

Oh yea! That sounds like him alright! So I guess we can expect the new Zelda to sell around 1.5m then...

I actually love the puzzle elements in Zelda games, but I just miss the action (and the exploration) from LoZ... That might still be my favorite game in the series. But it's just like you said; it's a matter if finding that balance.

On a similar side note; I loved the combat in SS and TP; you actually had to use tactics when fighting. Well, it was optional in TP, but I loved that you got to learn new move by the OLD Link (or whomever that was) ^^

The worst thing to happen is if Nintendo works on the game with the mindset to make it fresh again. That is completely unneeded for a game that hasn't been made in about a decade.

I would be hyped if they showed a lot of different enemy types and at least one boss fight. Same overworld is a very strange decision, as if they don't care.

Yay! He has answered people of VGC!!! This thread is now complete!!

/Thread

I just wanna adress one thing; I think they actually showed one boss fight... And I saw like 4-5 different enemies... And from what I can gather all we've seen is the overworld and one dungeon, that more closely resembles a tower, so I'm sure we'll get to see a lot more at e3
