Forums - Sales Discussion - Surely, everyone is interested in DD's

Digital Download tracking must be a hot commodity right?

Surely NPD and others would be willing to pay to get access to this information, so what's the holdup?
Lots of trackers are really going to need access to this info sooner rather than later, with DD percentages reaching 33% levels.

Link for evidence above, vita sells a third of their games as digital copies. This doesn't mean that every game should have 33% added.

Anyway, this isn't about the Vita, but rather about the market climate. Trackers rely on accuracy in order to sell their "product", so why haven't we seen numbers anywhere? Seems strange.

damn i thought i t was about boobs!

yeah digital is cool, they should track it, it doesnt make any sense not too. more than half of sales like hots was digital and wow expansions were mostly digital upgrades.

Because for whatever reason certain publishers don't want us to know it. I cant think of a reason right now... but give me a minute.

Don't you mean to say all publishers?

I wonder if they're including PSN+ downloads. I know other publishers have been questioned about including those.

It could also be PS1 and other cheap PSN downloads. This certainly doesn't lead me to believe "Full Games" that can be found in retail make up this 33%.

i though Dungeon and Dragons and for some reason DuoDerm for wound management... LOL

I prefer Cs but I am interested in DDs. Animal Crossing New Leaf is a good example of VGC falling behind in the digital era.

Digital Download? No, that's bad! It requires internet and there are people who don't have internet, bad connection, limited data-plans! Are they nuts? Some people live in province, that's not fair! I want that every game also will be available physical so I don't have to use internet.

Obviously ms and sony have full numbers available to them. Yes there are some games whose numbers get released for passing milestones but this thread isn't about that, it's about asking why trackers haven't made more effort into getting the numbers
